Okay, I got my used Apprentice in and I've been running it as I have time.
the two bags($50 bank bags) that I kept count on had about 26.5% copper between the two of them. 17 wheats in one, and 6 wheats in the other. One dime, AND GET THIS!!!! one 1901 Canadian SILVER NICKEL!!!!!! WOW, how'd that get in there!? |
"May your percentages ever increase!" |

Hand sorted 10,000 yesterday, 3 boxes and 1 bag of CWR.
2616 copper - 26% 6730 zinc 37 wheats - oldest was a '36 rest were '40s & 50's 221 Canadian - including three kings, oldest was a '43. 324 '82s 70 that were gunk up, green or corroded so bad I couldn't read the date. 1 steel '43 - also quite gunked up but readable. 1 blank - I think... It's .055" thick & .738" in diameter.
2 of my regular drive by banks cut me off for not having an account. |

I went to Wachovia to make a deposit today. I rarely get pennies from them, but after I dropped off some zincs, the teller next to the one assisting me said I have a lot of CWR if you want (this was prompted by me informing the teller I was a collector after being questioned). How could I say no? I said how much do you have? She said how much you want? Then I said if I said $500, you would not be able to supply. Then she said I have about $50. So I got $25. So I go on my merry way (having a good day: went to a coin show and found 1909IN, 1865, and 3 other indian cent in wheat rolls and 5 BU steels) and look at the rolls and notice some of them are wrapped on some old looking wrappers. I say to myself can't judge a book by its cover, but out of curiosity, I open one to see and the WHOLE roll was copper! It's about time I got some of that luck some of you have been getting.
So sorting report for today $30.50 sorted ($5.50 from another bank) 1700 copper=55.74% 1 dime Best percentage this year up 35.50% from last sort |

2 boxes- both strange - 1 good, 1 bad.
CWI box:
2 coppers! That's a bummer- I have had my struggles with brinks boxes with no copper but never CWI unless they were brand new. I would have weighed it first but didn't think I had to.
Brinks:
It was open and had $19 CWR, $6 in plastic. The CWR produced 10 wheats and 310 Cu.
Big surprise on the plastic rolls- they all looked brown on the edges and I got 550 Cu incl 3 more wheats!

"Rich," the Old Man said dreamily, "is not baying after what you can't have. Rich is having the time to do what you want to do. Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark
