Went to get nickels and lucked upon 2 boxes of halves that no one bothered to pick-up...1 full box and one box missing 5 rolls.

I was driving around yesterday stopping at banks and asking if they had halves or anything interesting in a little nearby town.
I had accounts at all the branches (I got $100 accounts everywhere)
Finally I get pointed from a regular teller to a head teller in a little bulletproof glass faced cubicle built into the wall for a head/commercial teller arrangement. She had a big safe right behind her. An old building and I guess they went with this old design when they took it over.
I was told she had some halves, 2 rolls. I started getting juiced and sure enough, she produces two very old looking brown paper rolls.
I calmly waited till I got out to my vehicle before I looked.
Skunk! Just some beat up clads from the 70's
Yeah, that's the way I felt.
Read a lot of these stories that seem to go the other way with nice finds of silver.
Sigh.

Yes one was on one evening and the other was the next morning. So for a total of 3 out of $200. Sorry for the confusion. |

I really like that silver searchers score sheet.. even though I am not on the board.. yet. It gives those of us that can't get many halves a chance to play.. and motivates us to "sort more."
Does the denominator keep changing on that score sheet? I thought I saw 2000 originally, then 8,000.. now 8500. Is this a conspiracy to keep those of us with low silver finds but lot of coins searched off the board?.. lol.  |
