Wow. That's very sad, Hirbonzig. Maybe your next silver find will make up for those lost dollars.
I picked up a roll at a bank earlier this morning but there was no silver in it. I'll try again later today.

it will be the kind that someone has crunched the ends over to hold the coins in...you can easily unfold the paper and take the coins out of them. the machine wrapped rolls are very tight and have to be cut or broken to get the coins out of them. The cwr's I get are yellow or brown, most of the mwr's are blue and white.

Mini road trip today. I was saving last weeks skunk boxes to be able to fill a bag I've been thinking about. So I headed South again, and ended up searching $605 CWR's/loose. I was unable to get the bag due to that branch's policy. Cant win em all, but still I'm not complaining.

$605 searched
40%-76
90%-2

66 of the 40% all came from 1 bank which had $200 even in CWR's. I even had time to get back and dump everything too. It would of been nice to see more 90%, but I'll take days like this anytime! 11.96 OZ. closer to my goal of 150 for the year. Happy and grateful :)

Yes, CWR's are decipherable by two major things: The folded over ends, and the wrapper does not tightly cling to the inside pennies.

There might be a bit of a learning curve setting up this monster machine into my home network. Please be patient with me providing you with stats over the next few days. Thanks....

I bought it!!! Now the real work begins tomorrow when I configure its O/S and software into my wireless network.

I'm back! The new PC is a speed demon. I upgraded from Win-ME all the way to Windows-7. Now that's quite a leap!!

Now I'm gonna see if I can get out the SILVER stats with the new software.

Don't worry, nologiks. Silver comes and goes, and you will eventually put your hands on a silver half soon. Trust me. Those droughts last for a short period of time if you keep on buying more and looking. Good luck!

I am very suprised at some of the stats.

I cannot find any silver dimes or quarters in rolls.
Customer rolls are very rare for halves. My closes 35 branches have none ever. Now if I burn some gas I can drive around southeastern PA and find a few, and get a few silvers. Fun when I have time.

I have 14 boxes of pennies waitng for me to set up a Ryedale today. Have to work so I better get busy.

That's quite a computer Country!

I get 24M down and 4 up with my ISP (Comcast). A wired network is the way to go for me. I have 13 stations in the house and my seat has 4 24" monitors. I do use wireless for laptops and phones. I could use your comp and will be like my next rig when I decide to upgrade. I use windows home server and can access from anywhere on the net. Backs up all stations. I keep all my business data too plus a 4 station accounting package (peachtree)

I use a 2T mirrored network drive to back up the backups as I have had many close calls.

Most of the dime stats are from $250 boxes. Since the half dollar searching is much more, I did some stats on the production of SILVERs from CWRs and loose teller coins. I haven't done the same with the dimes as of yet since less than 100 SILVER dimes have been found so far.

How much have you sorted thus far?

About half of my boxes are skunks, so it might take a while to score some Ag.

Whoop and A De-Dah-Doo!
I was at the right place at the right time today, $140 CWR's:

2 '50P
6 '51P
5 '52P
5 '53P
8 '54P
NO '55's (Imagine that!)
NO '56's either
7 '57P
7 '58P
2 '59P
12 '60P
6 '61P
24 '62P
29 '63P

22 '64
7 '65(one looks like it's on a 90% blank, I got to get a scale!)
7 '66
7 '67
3 '68 (finally saw a D)

I really can't believe my good fortune today, it's one H311 of a HIGH!
(I had already bought a Lotto ticket today, so maybe it might hit for 2 Bucks, but I'm getting another one first thing tomorrow.)
Monday I plan on going back to the institution with some Chocolate and asking the teller (who said she was saving them for me since I stop in at least once a week) to be on the lookout for when the same customer comes back (and the "D's" get dumped) to ask her to put them in her drawer and save them for me. There is a crabby teller at this institution that looks like someone fed her a lemon when I stop in, I'm pretty sure she looks for Ag. I don't want her to get them!

I'll probably dream of Walkers tonight hoping they might come in soon.

There's profit if you melt things!!

I deserve an award from this forum, either for having the most disgusting Kennedy Half Dollars, or for being the most pathetic silver searcher. I went to several banks today, with my usual run of bad luck. At the last one the teller was explaining how he pulls all silver out of any returns. I congratulated him; he has several barber coins this year. So I said in parting, "so there's absolutely no coins here that you haven't searched?" he paused and said, well, except for this bag. They are from a house fire, and I am not willing to touch them". I bought the bag for $55. I washed them, and cleaned them as best I could. I gleaned 3 40%'s from the 110 coins. And now I am left with coins so ugly I can't find Kennedy's head on most. I can't possibly use these for groceries or gas, so I can only hope they go thru a coin machine. If not, I have paid $55 for 3 40% silver halfs. But, on the plus side, I have the faint smell of camp fire in my living room.

1966 to 1973 Bahamas 50c circulation strikes are .800 SILVER, .2667 AGW.

1974 to 1985 Bahamas 50c circulation strikes are copper-nickel.

1974 to 1980 Bahamas 50c PROOFS are .800 SILVER, .2667 AGW.

Got a proof, it's SILVER; otherwise it's copper-nickel.
