I found a couple of 1971's that look to be in BU condition. Any value to these other than 50 cents?
NO real value for the 1971 halves other than collector value if you are putting together a set.

We've got much more folks posting this year too. I estimate this thread could go 300 pages for 2010.

Hmmm...record monthly high. That all because of Country's competition madness
Good job once agin for adding life and helping to singlehandedly deplete the local bank branches of available coins in house.
I have a big week lined up and hope I didn't overspend at the fun show and cut to deeply on funds to play with. I will be dumping coins at lots of branches.

All thanks to you Country. I did not participate in this thread last year. The silver score, plus all of the cool stats that you are tracking makes this a little more fun, and gives us a reason to post everything we search. It also has made me search a much higher volume this year so far. I hope I can keep it up all year.

| I had a pretty good day at the bank today (saturday). I went in to deposit some coins, and the clerk asked me if I knew anything about quarters. I said I did, and she showed me 4 silver quarters she had pulled when a lady brought in a bag of quarters to be counted. She then said she thought they probably still had the bag from the machine in the vault. I asked if I could buy it, and after some consultation, they said I could. They had to find the bag in the vault. I bought it, $500. In it were 220 silver washington qtrs, 2 S-mint mark w/o date standing liberties, and 1 '64 canadian. 110 were 1964's, but after that, every year from 1940 thru 1963 was represtend, except for 2. There was also one 1936. It was a pleasant surprise. I really did not expect to see any more silver quarters in the wild. I have been getting a little sour about the lack of silver in the oregon area; now I have no complaints, at least for a while. |

If it is not possible to transfer your statistics each month we could just go to page one of the January thread. Don't know if this would work it's just thought. |

| Yes, it was pure luck, and I don't know why the tellers are so friendly to me ---- I usually bring them bags of coin to be counted. I have a picture of my stacks of quarters, and also 3 pictures of "magician coins" I have found, but I lack the gumption to post a picture --- |
