| Got a roll from a Brinks bank today in Central Illinois. And have a bank ordering 4 boxes from the fed for me. They said that they can't specifically order new boxes. So I decided to roll the dice and see if I hit the jackpot!! |

A Teller at my dump bank proudly displayed one for me while uttering the taunting phrase, "I got one before you did.".
I like to delude myself that I have a good relationship with the Tellers (sorry Customer Service Specialists) and Management at this institution.
At least this Teller/CSS will sell me 1/2 of the Wheats she sorts out if I ask politely.

| I've went through over 51 boxes of cents in the last couple weeks and still haven't seen a single new cent! I wanted to hit a box when they were selling on ebay for over $500 each! Now they are down to around $250 and dropping. Still not bad for $25 investment. |

I found one in a roll that I got in a bank in Phoenix,AZ.
Are you selling them when you find them or are you holding on to them?
I read that only 350 million were minted of the 1st design because of decreased demand for new pennies into circulation. |

I just got one in the Chicagoland suburbs. A 2009 one (as opposed to 2009-D). I found it about 2 min. ago while hand sorting and about fell off my chair!!!  |

No one really answered my question in my last response.
Are you holding on to these or are you selling them while the market for them seems hot? Do you think the value will increase or are people paying 50 cents a coin beause its more of a fad right now. |

I am just holding onto my penny. I think they may be valuable (in mint state) sometime far into the future, but I think at the moment it is just a fad. In my opinion, they don't have any real metal value, as older coins do.

I found one yesterday while at the Navy Pier in Chicago. We were eating at Billy Goats...you know, CHEEZEBORGER, CHEEZEBORGER, CHEEZEBORGER!!! and saw somthing shiny on the ground. I picked it up and it was a 2009 with the log cabin on the back. THAT really made my day. My wife calls me a coin-whore! LOL!

I just found one outside an outlet mall. We actually went to the 3 segmented mall to count the number of vacant shops. Last month the majic number was 15 closed and 15 open. Now, the number is 20 closed and 10 open. I found the beauty outside an Osh Kosh B' Gosh store. Apparently the overpriced crumb-snatcher-wear boutique had someone walk by with a 2009 penny ;)
