I was dumping my zincs into a counter at the bank today and noticed what I thought was an indian head. It had two wreaths on the outside and had a nice old patina.
I grabbed it out of the tray before the machine ate it and looked at it. Stil no IH for me this year! It was a token from the civil war. Same size and weight as a penny. One side says "Union Flour." The other side says "redeemable by D.L. Wing & co, Albany, NY."
I looked it up and there were two on the internet. One went for $6.9 and the other went for $4.99
Now there is a find as rare as a Flying Eagle Cent.
Congratulations!
I change with the times- but like silver coins found in your change I stay the same. ***************** The United States of America started out as the new Republic of Rome.
Will The United States of America end up as the New Imperial Rome?
Neither my bank or C/U has a machine like that to make life more interesting!!!
The few coinstar machines I happen to pass by never have anything either. And, I don't want to use one and waste my money as I lectured my son here not too long ago.
Nice. I wouldn't consider selling it. I'd keep it just for the cool factor.

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams
