Dohh! You've made me dig through my pile of recent wheaties and George VIs. There it is, it's a 1932, not in the greatest shape. |

put me down for my first George ever... 1920
It is in great shape. Sharp details, with only a slight scratch over the '2' in 1920; but it is very dirty. Should I clean it? And if yes, then how? |

I've found 2 since I started sorting. Both dated 1929. One in 2008 and one in 2007. |

Hi Coppernicus -
Just got my first George V penny yesterday. It was a 1933. The same roll also gave up a US 1987 Rosevelt dime. My 4th dime but no silver yet.
Happy Hunting All!!

put me down for another 1920
I've still got $200 to go, but the results so far are encouraging. I guess a lot of people are dumping their coin jars at the bank.
Halves were hard to come by recently... tellers were saying that many men were coming around for "Easter Egg Coins" yeah right! |

Hey - Just found another George V today. It was a 1935 in decent shape for the age. I tried a new bank north of TO & found out that there is another customer who hunts the coin rolls & picks up the foreign coins. I also found a UK 5 pence cupro-nickel coin the size of a dime. The rolls did have a lower % of copper only about 40% so this might be somebodies dump bank.
I was worried that I might have been recovering too much copper for my area so I went a bit north as well for some fresh pennys. It brought my averages to about 65% copper. Nice, yes, very nice!!
Yes I am in Canada so I have more dates to pick from.
Happy hunting all, Bart

I found a 1932 today. I also found a very shiny dove penny. That makes 4 George V's for the year and three in the last couple of weeks. |

Found another George last night. It's a 1921 in sad shape. Looks like someone hit it with a hammer & chisel. Still a good filler until I find a better one.
Happy Hunting ALL!!!

Nickel hunting. Incredably, a 1934 George V popped out of a roll! I'll just add him to the ones I bought last year and the three or four previously found. |

Got my first George V. 1920
pulled it out of the zinc accept. Guess this means I really need to sift through the zincs from now on to avoid missing anything. |

I just found a 1931 ... 20 centime Swiss coin. Not a George V but the same age. It's even pure nickel, according to wiki. |

I just found my fifth George V for the year. It is a 1920. Not in the best of shape though. Usually the King V's that I have found have been in pretty good shape, not so with this one. |

Two boxes yielded one George VIs each. Three total in 2009 - the other I found on the ground outside a resturant. |

1921 George V large British Penny and 1902 Edward VII large British Penny found in a a $500 bag of Halves. Same diameter as a Half and almost as thick as a half so I guess that's how it got in the bag.
They seem in pretty good condition (better than most Buffalo Nickles I find). Can anybody give me a ballpark idea of the what the current value might be? |
