Still been buzzing away with the pennies here. Holding a 27% steady avg. Nothing too amazing to say, but I did find my first 1909 today. It seems to be a flaw because I could have swore there was a 'S' and 'VDB' on there somewhere =)

I don't get nearly the percentages you guys are getting.. so I "just sort more!"

Had a pretty good penny day today. Stopped off at lunch time at a bank I don't even have an account at to pick up my order of 24 boxes. They had an extra 3 boxes of CWR at the teller station, so they sold me those too. They even stacked them on my cart for me. Now that's customer service! And I scored 3 more rolls of PR quarters.

Went down the street and found a new source bank. I had to open an account there, but they ordered me 24 boxes for next week. A guy just can't have too many source banks. They also sold me about 20 CWR pennies and 6 CWR nickels they had on hand.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Sorted $25 worth of Customer wrapped rolls last night, very heavy on the coppers, approximately 41% copper, but not a single wheaty in the bunch, and not a single copper earlier than 1968. This batch was also heavy on the D-mints, probably more than 4-5x as may D-mints as usual for me. I gather that the customer must've moved from out west recently with all the change they accumulated over the years, and then sorted out all the wheats and early date memorials before depositing.

One box of cents=23.47% copper,8 wheats and 11 Canadian. The oldest wheat was a nasty looking 1937. It looks like it was whizzed and then thrown on the road and run over countless times.

$25, plastic machine wrapped, Brinks

About 30-35% copper (didn't keep perfect track)

38 WHEATS , including a shiny VF-EF 1955-S! (probably cleaned). The wheats were distributed pretty evenly throughout the box.

Earliest date: 1927. Also found about 10 AU-BU from 60s and 70s, and poor man's 1955 DDO.

This is only my second box sorted. Last one was customer wrapped, and only yielded about 8 wheats, and was from a different bank. I'll definitely be going back to the second bank again!

Searched: $2230 Nickels; Liberty: 1; Buffalo: 4; War: 20; 2009: 2; 2010D: 8

Hit a good batch of CWR I picked up this week. At first I thought there was something wrong with the Ryedale.. too many cents were popping out on the copper side. Stopped the machine and checked it.. everything was fine.

Out of 70 CWR I got 2814 coppers. That's 80.4%!!! Best copper percentage I've had in a long time. Usually that is my zinc percentage.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I just got done sorting a small sample of 20 CWRs. And my take is:

272 Copper Pennies
5 Cull Coppers (Or "ugly Abes" as you guys might call them.)
4 Canadian Coppers (Which I count)
2 Wheats
2 AU Coppers

285 Total copper pennies out of 1000 (28.5%)

I know the sample is pretty small, but its pretty indicative of what I get.

BTW 3 dimes were mixed in with these rolls.
