This came in this AM. Note the link for sending suggestions - different from the one we have been using. Suggest we continue to request until it becomes a reality.
Hello,
Thank you for writing in to us at eBay Customer Support, my name is Vincent an I'll be assisting you today.
Based on your email, I understand that you would like to add a Coins & Paper Money > Bullion > Copper and Nickel" category for the Canadian , Australian and American sites.
I have checked our category tree and I can see that this is most definitely a good category to place on our site. In this case, thank you for emailing your suggestion on category structure. It has been forwarded to eBay's Category Development Team for further review.
Your suggestion will be assessed and may be implemented if it meets eBay's category development criteria. But bare in mind, this process can take some time.
If you have other suggestions in the future, please send them to us by using the links on the following page:
You must be logged in to see this link.
Again, thank you for your email. If you run into any other troubles or have any other questions, please write back and I will be happy to assist you further!
Best Wishes,
Vincent Y. eBay Customer Support

I think we might be getting the run around from ebay. I submitted the suggestion several days ago and just got this email from them. I followed all their links for Creating a listing and the proper department has not read it. ==================== Dear Daniel,
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your suggestion.
I understand your suggestion and we do like hearing from you, but please understand that any comments or materials you submit to us -- questions, ideas, technical or creative suggestions, and so forth -- are considered non-confidential and non-proprietary. That means they don't belong to anyone and we have no obligation of any kind regarding them.
If you still want to submit your suggestion, please reply to this message and I'll be glad to forward it to the appropriate team.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation, and wish you luck with your future eBay transactions.
Sincerely, Dorothy C. eBay Customer Support ======================= I just responded to her and asked her to send it. Couldn't they have done that days ago?

I just got the same exact message from another rep. The problem is we contacted customer service, not the special link with all the disclaimers about them owning the suggestion etc that is here: You must be logged in to see this link.
Suggest replying to the email from customer service AND writing the suggestion team off that ^^^^^^^link as well.

| Sent mine a few minutes ago as well, via U.S. site but suggested Canada and Aussie also. Following legacypac's link for the .com (U.S.) version of the eBay site gives you an email with a subject of "Sending Suggestions to eBay" so we'll see what comes back to me. |

Sent mine (again) to both US and Canadian sites. Maybe they'll add it just to stop us from emailing them |

So far I got the canned "Receipt of your email to eBay Suggestions" email, but nothing else.
Interestingly though, if you go to the categories Buy>Coins & Paper Money>Coins: US> you get some "Refine Search" options on the left side and "Materials>Copper" is one of the choices! It only shows up under US coins though, not with Bullion or the other Coin categories. Maybe they are trying to monitor search stats for "copper" before adding it as a category??? (Wishful thinking). |

Hello Cameron,
Thank you for writing to eBay. My name is Victoria and I appreciate the opportunity to assist you.
I have forwarded your idea about setting up a "Bullion: Copper" category to eBay Canada's Product Development team for further review. Their aim is to improve eBay to meet your requirements and help ensure the growth of the trading community.
Please be assured that feedback from our members is highly valued. If you have any additional suggestions, Customer Support can be contacted by clicking Help at the top of any eBay page. When the Help window opens, follow the topic links to locate the topic which most closely matches your suggestion. You can then click the "email Us" link at the bottom of that page to send our Customer Support team an email. Alternatively, you can click the "Contact Us" link on the left side of most eBay Help pages.
Thank you once again for contacting eBay.
Regards,
Victoria N. eBay Customer Support

Just as a side note. Consider this.
We are all pinging ebay to start up this category. They have our names and accounts now. If we continue to bid on each others auctions to drive up the price or to purchase it could be considered shill bidding.
Just thought I would throw that out there so 2 months from now the don't start banning accounts.

| I've gotten responses from Canada, US and Austrilia ebay sites, even though I just emailed the Canadian site. I put in the text of the suggestion that they need Copper Bullion in all three countries, so at least someone is reading the suggestion and sending it to various category management teams. |

| I don't consider my bids on other's copper auctions to be shill bids. The fact of the matter, is that I am willing to buy up to a certain price. I won two 5000 copper auctions last month - one at $53 and one at $56 (granted, was not expecting to win) - with shipping they were both $66 or 1.32 times face which I'll buy at all day long. |

Realcent has just defined pennies as copper BULLION on eBay! Yes the collective efforts of our members has created the new Copper Bullion Category and the new Other Bullion Category (Nickels anyone?) on the US and Canadian eBay sites. I can hardly believe it, but realcent members collectively changed the structure of eBay giving a big boost to the credability of our little hobby.
Now bullion buyers and sellers can choose from:
Bullion ...Copper ...Gold ...Platinum & Palladium ...Silver ...Other |

I've been out of the loop for a while and just read this thread for the first time. This was an awesome idea, and a great team effort. It is nice to know that the common person can make a difference once in a while.

It's taken a while, but hopefully Cu will finally gain the status of a Precious Metal. There is only a finite amount available (on Earth) and it's not getting any easier to to make 95% shiny disks from what's left to dig out of the ground.
