Look at it this way.. you get almost all your money back. For less than a nickel you can buy a whole new box! |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

5 boxes sourced from three different branches, all Brinks plastic. 2 100% mixed zinc (2 different branches) 1 box at 4% Cu 1 box at 17% Cu 1 box at 18% Cu $10 face in CWRs, 12% Cu
Oh, and my gram scale died after about 2 hours of use... useless overpriced lithium coin batteries.
On the upside, one of the good boxes got me a copper planchet. Also one 1988 cent in high-AU condition that looks like the planchet actually cracked under pressure.
Also- 4 pounds of "unsearched wheats"- about 60 "keepers" from the batch, including five common-date Indians. A couple with mintages < 5mil
$150 in nickels- about 20 1940s-1950s in G-VG condition. No 30s, no silver. One almost prooflike 2005D buffalo.
1 "bank roll" of buffalo nickels- lots of 36Ps, but several in nice shape, only 4 dateless wonders.
Edit to add- $10 in CWR, newest coins being 1987s, about 60% Cu (+/- another 8% 1982 coins). Man, the mint used some lousy dies in the 80's. Need to get a working scale to put together some 1982 variant sets. |
Considering Verizon Business service? Perhaps you'd like to consider a nice drain cleaner enema instead? |

| I did not count today, but it looked like about a 20% copper haul in today's sort. A 35 and a 37 for older wheats found. No Feathers. |

I love going to coin shows! So many coins.. so little money to buy them with.
Coin buying report for yesterday: 22 Silver Eagles - 11 86 and 11 mixed dates 16.75 face 90% - Including seated half, seated lib dime, early mercs, proof Franklin and several XF/AU walkers. 1 $50 Gold Eagle Set of Lion coins from Singapore including 1/4th, 1/10th and 1/20th oz gold coins. and yes, I actually did buy a small baggie of copper cents.. included mostly early wheats (2 32-D and a 15-D) and 17 Indian cents.. many in VF-XF. |

So far this week... $5 in Mercury dimes (purchase, just under melt)- all 40's $5 in Peace dollars (paid a bit of a premium, all <2mil mintage) $10 in halves- all 2000-Ps. Shouldn't have opened the roll. $10 in nickels- was astonished to find a 1937-P (Buffalo) in VF condition, otherwise just spending money. $10 in pennies, Brinks paper wrappers- about 15% copper 2 $25 Brinks plastic-wrapped boxes- mixed zincs . i think i'm at something like 7 for 13 now. $40 in nickels- a half-dozen '40-'59s, none especially nice
$150 in Brinks plastic pennies, split between two branches- got a total of 4 in the 14lb 10oz range, and two at 14lb even, so at least i'll get SOME copper this week... |
