Been hand sorting about $50 a week lately. Percentages staying at around 18%. Seems low by the forum's standards, but in line with others from the Atlanta area. I wonder if there's a good reason for this? Maybe we are closer to a distribution point. For the last few boxes, I have set aside all of the 98, 99, and 00s to look for Wide AM varieties. I have already found one (98) and am not finished. Unfortunately it is well circulated and stained. I hope to find one in better condition and sell it for a little profit. It's a waiting game, I guess...

Well I can't get the kind of deals you do, so I have to make it up in volume. I suppose I should add the $75.35 face in 90% silver I bought from another member on Tuesday night to that. As you know, I do sell off an occasional bag of pennies to help fund this bad coin habit of mine.

I still think there is something you are not telling us about your drug store deal. Was it Play money? What is the whole scoop on this deal?

In answer to lanispet and his Southpark bus driver girlfriend.. Yes, I had to pay for the gold sovereign. Even at the current price of gold, they are still not giving those away. That is why my post started with "Coin Buying Report."

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Wait found it...it was a 1987 India 25 Paise. Does anyone know if this is worth anything? My guess is probably not.

The Indian denominations in circulation currently are 25 and 50 paise and 1, 2 and 5 rupee coins. So I'd say that since this is the indian "penny" or lowest value coin...not worth anything except the pleasure of owning it and wondering how it got all the way to you in pocket change. Wikipedia is a little fuzzy on this but it seems your 1987 coin is Aluminium-Magnesium. In 1988 India switched to stainless steel since Aluminium became too expensive. So your coin is worth more in metal value then buying power. Better add it to your Aluminium hoard.

More recently rising prices of steel have made steel Rupee coins worth less than their metal value. This has led to noticeable shortages of coins in parts of India due to individuals illegally melting them and using the steel to manufacture razor blades. The blades are then smuggled out of the country for sale in Bangladesh. So there are a few 100 million indians with the same basic idea as us... new export market for that Ryedale Andy?

Or you could grind it up REALLY fine and light it

got $60 more in CWR's from one bank (i think someone's return from searching for wheats), and $75 in CWR from another bank. Both of these banks call when they get CWR's.

My brinks boxes have stayed about the same 14.6-15 lbs. Today I think i got 5 15lb boxes in my monday penny order.

Gave my ryedale a little break tonight because it ran a couple hours today and it needs the wire harness to be replaced. Andy sent a new one, Thanks Andy!
So I hand searched through 45 CWR of nickels.
0-war nickels

CAN Nickels:
1867-1992
1985
1981
1999

This box was disappointing...

The 1981 is pur nickel... the others aren't.
