Good stats but I just can't do it to that detail it is too time consuming right now.

I am averaging maybe 42 to 50% per roll copper pennies be they Can or US.

Sorting report for today:
99.95%!!! 150 Rolls of Pure Copper!!!

Sorted 3 boxes of pennies and they were almost solid copper! Only got 4 zincs out of the entire 3 boxes!!!

OK, I admit it.. I cheated. I bought these 3 boxes from a fellow hoarder. I bought 7500 coppers a while back from copperpennies and I finally got around to opening them today. The shipment was extremely well packaged. First I did a count verification.. Came out with 7498 pennies.. more accurate than many Brinks wrap boxes I get from the bank. Next I did a copper verification by running them through my Ryedale. Copper purity is very important to me. There were only 4 zincs in the entire batch. This is better than any other batch of pennies I have bought in the past.. including many machine sorted bags of copper. Pretty amazing for a hand sorter.. way better than I did back in my hand sorting day. Definately a good batch of copper cents from this fellow hoarder. The coins have now been recounted into bags and boxed up as part of a shipment going out Tuesday morning to tmaring in a swap for some really cool Klingon and Vulcan copper and 1 Kilo copper bars. They are destined to become some of the new "Good Copper" pieces he will be producing soon.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

Excellent to hear about the great transaction. I have some of those kilo bars. Very nice indeed. Didn't you get some of the Vulcan coins already?

So my single box text count posted above is pretty close to normal:
Canadian Copper 52.82% out of total Canadian
US Copper 43.79% out of total US Coin

In that case we are getting way more copper in Canada then our American friends are getting. That makes sense because Canada used copper until 1996 vs US used it only until 1981 (and some into 82).
Sort On!

I got real lucky on my last trip to the bank. I came across 2 customer wrapped rolls of only wheats, mostly 40's and 50's for a grand total of 102 wheats total! A few weeks ago at the same bank I got 34 rolls of BU pennies in rolls of '63, '64, '68 and '69. 2 of them unopened shotgun rolls. Pretty good for my first couple trips to the bank!

Below is my latest trip.
600 Zinc
393 Copper
102 Wheat
003 Canada
001 Bermuda
001 Dime

If i sell any more to you i will add 6 coins to the box :)

Those coins were from my first ever coins sorted and i was very paranoid about any zinc cents getting into the copper. I thought that if i were to sell any amount of coins and if any zinc was in the shipment i would never have another buyer. I, like you do, ran a "copper verification run" on about $20 worth and then i ran out of energy. I have maybe $98 in copper and i am going to try to sell them again and add a few more to my hoard.

Had a good day on drive buys at lunch time today.
Got 2 Bank boxes plus 40 CWR pennies and 4 rolls of shiny new dollars at the first bank
and
104 CWR pennies
18 CWR nickels
21 CWR dimes
at the second
She also had 2 boxes of halves for me but I didn't have a spare grand on me at lunch time so she is going to hold them for me so I can pick them up Friday.

I feel like im not doing much compared to hoard.

Today I got:
$100 in CWR's
$200 in brinks boxes

but get this, I got mine delivered. Top that hoardy!!! Free delivery at that. That's why you get lots of people that owe you, so you can have them repay overtime by ordering pennies from their banks and then bringing them to you.

I can top that.. I am getting some delivered too. Not only am I getting them delivered, but I am also getting them presorted so I only get the copper ones. Bought another $95 face in copper from copperpennies today.

I also had 4300 wheat cents delivered today that I bought from Nickelless.

I also get 8 rolls of pennies, 5 rolls of nickels, and 5 rolls of dimes delivered every day by Loomis/Fargo armored car service.

I didn't really feel like I did much today though. Guess I better just wander out to the penny processing center and "Sort more!"

Sorted one box of pennies today:

774 1959-82 Cu cents 30.96%
9 Wheat cents (oldest 1918-D)
4 Canadian cents

Pretty average and again no Indians...

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

first post here and first time sorting a $25 roll box. I usually just sort out from my change but decided to give it a go, and actually had a blast. I made it over here from goldismoney following ArdentListener's link and have browsed for a couple of months before registering

$25 box stamped 15 May (from CO) yielded:

13.56% Copper
311 59-82
28 wheats (earliest = 1919)
4 canadian (earliest = 1932)
0 dimes, indians, etc

compared to others my % was a tad low, so I may have to take a members advice and just sort more
