Hand sorted 8 boxes, one of them CWR.
13,699 - Zn 5,209 - Cu (includes 88 wheats, oldest an '09) 596 - 82's 494 - Canadians (2 kings, oldest a '40) 1- Bermuda 1 cent 1 - Panamanian Un Centisimo
Getting about 26%. My 82's and Canadians are going into separate buckets for later sorting.

Got some great CWR in last night's sort. Several rolls with nothing newer than 1963! Almost all Wheat cents.. and the majority of those were S mint.. even the ones in the 20's and 30's. They weren't solid copper though.. there were Steel cents mixed in.. 7 or them.. 1 P, 1 D, and 5 S mints! |

1 box finished today:
796 1959-82 Cu 31.84% 12 Wheat cents 7 Canadian cents
That's now 12 boxes in a row that have fallen below my average copper yield of 32.79% this year. It's a small decrease and nothing to worry about really, but just thought it was interesting to note that there was a small downward trend of about 2% less overall on those last 12 boxes. |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Actually make that a trend over the last 16 boxes, and also 18 out of the last 20. It's ok though, I have a modest hoarding goal of hitting 50K-75K of copper cents by the end of the year, so I am well on my way to making it. |

Hello all
I posted to the indian head cent thread the other day when I finally found my first indian cent. Today I picked up $20 customer rolled pennies and found several full copper rolls. Only nine wheaties in the total but I found my second indian head cent (1898 good condition) just three days after finding the first. Copper was over $10 in this $20 sort by far my best %. I usually average 20-22%. They say things happen in three's so maybe next week I will pull a third indian. |

Today's sort of $100. 21.25% copper (a little better than usual) with 34 wheat and 5 copper Canadians. Oldest wheat was 1911. Also found a 27, 29 and a 39. No Feathered Liberty. |

Rich is a little whiskey to drink and some food to eat and a roof over your head and a fish pole and a boat and a gun and a dollar for a box of shells. Rich is not owing any money to anybody, and not spending what you haven't got." Robert Ruark

Well I didn't find any Indians yet today.. sorry tex. But I did find something even more elusive than the much vaunted and sometimes doubted feathered liberty.
Those of you that play craps are familiar with "Hard Ways"
Well, I found 2 silver dimes today.. 1 the easy way by sorting 12 bank wrapped rolls of dimes and 1 the hard way.. in a Brinks wrapped roll of pennies. These are much tougher to find than Indian cents or steel cents. It was a bent up/beat up 1956.. but it was silver! I have a heavy duy vise bolted to the work bench that can straighten it right out.
This makes a total of 3 silver dimes I have found in penny rolls so far. I think fiatboy has also found a silver dime.. anybody else? |

Struck Silver in my pennies again tonight! This time it was a 1930 Silver Sixpence of George V. That is the second one of those I have found so far.
I also found a 1914-S in VF! |

I haven't sorted the bag yet, but I opened a $50 bag and have fished out about 200 wheats so far. About 40 of them are 1943 steel. |
