We all are often curious what the current market price is for our copper hoards. From time to time I put an auction up on eBay to test that market. I have decided to try it again this week so I put a bag up on eBay. Here is a link to the details in the Buy/Sell section:

Just for fun I thought I would have a contest to guess the closing price. I am going to award an Indian Cent from my meager hoard to the RealCent member that comes up with the closest guess on what the closing price will be. What do you think the current market value of a bag of copper cents is?
One guess per person.
Guess must be posted by midnight forum time on Tuesday.

That was fast! I was looking at that auction earlier, and there were no bids. 3 hours later, there are 3 bids and it is over face with 6 days 21 hours left!
Will you sell some for me on ebay? :D I'm always hesistent because I'd like 2x face for my hand sorted since there are no '82's, so no question if its copper. |

Looks like we have some pretty good estimates on the board so far. It took off a little faster than I thought it would. Guess not running any ebay ads for a while didn't hurt me too much.. still a few repeat bidders out there from prior auctions. It will probably stall for a while now and then get the serious bids in the final minutes.
Don't worry Lilyrdape.. I can spare a bag or so every now and then without hurting the hoard too much. I can always go out in my man-cave and fire up the machines and "sort more."

| Yeah, I saw where you snuck those 2 new ones in inside of my closing date.. LOL. I am the underbidder on both of them. You might be diluting your market and lowering your price by running so many at once. A better strategy sometimes is to run one auction and then make official eBay second chance offers to the #2 and #3 bidders. |
