Picked up 9 rolls of halves and was skunked on silver, and also got short changed as well. One roll had a quarter in the place of a half dollar and another roll had a nickel in the place of a half dollar.
It's nice when you make 9 cents finding a dime in a roll of pennies, but it boils my cheese to get shorted by the bank on rolls of halves.
Has anybody been shorted on halves or other rolls?

| Yes, I got shorted on new dollars the other day. One roll had a quarter in place of a dollar. On a couple of dime rolls I actually got pennies! This is the reverse of what I am used to. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

I picked it up from a guy I used to work with. When he was really upset me to the point of seeing yellowed off at something, he said it "boiled his cheese"-must be a Wisconsin thing. |

Yeah, talked my mom into buying CWR of quarters and halves...
well she was traveling the other day and stopped at a bank along they way. Got $200 in quarters. Three rolls were short 3 quarters, with a nickel in the middle of each of these rolls. about 6 other rolls were short a quarter or two. She kicked herself she didn't check them at the bank. That was pretty bad! |

| Latest fad. Many banks are now not accepting rolled coins from individuals. If you go to some banks they will either tell you to go home and open them all, they will do it later and contact you with the amount either for you to come pick up or enter into your account. Yes way to many banks are getting caught up in this scam. Stores also will so not accept rolls of coins from individuls for the same reason. Some rolls are just short, some have slugs in them, some have things like a nickel instead of a quarter and the best is the quarter instead of the baby dollar. This is a growing scam and will soon be all over the place. |

| "Boiled my cheese" a Wisconsin thing? Huh? I've been here 40 years and never heard that one. No doubt you have us Badgers confused with the Flatlanders of Illinois? Why, they don't know which side of their toast to butter in the morning. I'm told that they butter the crust and hold on to the toast between their thumb and index finger its middle. Of course, I could be mistaken (and it might be Michigan instead). LOL. |
Here in Wisconsin, we have some of the highest property and gasoline taxes in the US. We're squeezed so much, I have to make my daughter wear penny boxes for shoes. At least she has an endless supply. |

As some may know, I work at a bank and this happens all the time. You'd be surprised that the people that do it more often have accounts with very large balances.. I obviously won't say names, but just last week, a customer that has over $400,000.00 LIQUID with the bank I work at gave me 3 rolls of quarters, and on each end, one coin in, was a nickel.. They shorted me $0.40 on each roll.. I wonder how they made all their money? Oh, and this happens at least once a week from different customers.
When I told the branch manager, they laughed at me when I said I wanted to call them and tell them I'd be debiting their account (because it was very clear they did it on purpose). It's only $1.20, but it's still stealing, and it adds up.
That didn't give me the ok to call them and/or debt the account. But I will mention something to them the next time they come in..

The problem I've found with people in Wisconsin is they are afraid to leave thier sanctuaries. I've got land there and every time I go there the neighbors all want to know about our FLAT LANDED STATE. I've tried to explain the town I came from was called HILLSBORO and not because there was nothing else to call it. But if you've never left a farm, the entire world is a mystery. Of course we all need Cheese so let's keep that state for a while. OH YEAH, nice Christmas trees too. And with the Mint capital of the world in Medford I guess not all is a waste land. |

How true this is. I live and work in Wisconsin and I am shocked at how often I run into people who have never been out of the state or who have lived here their whole lives and never went any further than Chicago or Rockford. |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.
