Um, not to nitpick here, but Morgans were last minted in 1921. If the dollar coin you were offered was a 1923, then it would have been a peace dollar (still an awesome find!!). |

Yeah, you're right. Sometimes I get too excited over a freebie and slip on details. That was my first "out of the blue" score in about a year. |

Stopped at a couple local banks while I'm still on vacation in northern Wisconsin. The first bank had only $20 in dimes to sell me. I took them and they were all clad. The second bank had $40 in halves and $50 in dimes. Out of this group I pulled a 1961-D half dollar and 2 silver dimes. One dime was a 1941 Mercury and the other was a 1949 Roosevelt. At this bank the halves they had were in an old rusty coffee can kept at the tellers window. When I saw the rusty can come out, I KNEW something good just had to be in there! Sometimes the smallest of banks can hold the best stuff. |

The latest SILVER stats for July have been posted. Look to the first post of this thread to get the details. Always look to the line just before the Kitco quotes to see the last post that was included in the latest update. |

Four $500 boxes
Box 1 1965 1966 Bicentennial proof
Box 2 skunk, but contained 1983, 1989, 1992 proofs
Box 3 skunk
Box 4 1965 x 2 1966 1967 x 2 1977 proof
and... I'm finding lots of nearly BU bicentennial proofs (which I don't save) that someone must have released into the wild recently |
Hoard now and hold on!

This week's 4 dime boxes (Brinks)
Box 1: 1 rosie
Box 2: 3 rosies
Box 3: skunk
Box 4: 3 rosies
Some of these silver coins did not show through the plastic wrap. . . if you aren't opening the Brinks rolls, you are probably missing silver.
About average for me . . . just shy of 2 keepers per box. |

2 boxes of halves. First box was our best box ever. It came from the same bank that gave up 78 40% in one box last month.
Box 1 = 1 90% JFK, 112 40%
Box 2 = 15 40%
One box of dimes = 1 90% Rosie |

UDEric, where is your bank? Anyway,
$80 CWR Dimes-Skunker but long a penny
$60 CWR Nickels-1943-S SILVER! Also long a dime and a penny(the penny was cu) and also found a token. It says "CRS Catholic Relief Services on one side and it has a cross on the other side. It's brown in color and just a little thinner than a nickel. |

All I'll say is that it's one of the banks somewhere in NYC
My father has a theory that this bank somehow gets old boxes delivered (when we happen to make a huge find like today and the one last month, the latest date coin in those boxes is usually in the 1995-1997 range) |
