Poll Question:
Hi guys, just thought i would throw a poll out there to give some of us something new to look at......
Who pulls out 2009 LP1,LP2,LP3,LP4 from there zinc return pile?

Choices:

I pull 2009 out because they will be very valuable since its the first penny change in 50 years
I do not pull any 2009 out and just return them with my zinc

Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday.

I pull them if I see them while I don't really think they will be worth alot, might be good to have a few laying around.

Buying CU cents!!!! Paying 1.2 unlimited amounts wanted. Can pick up if near Ohio area.

I don't pull them because of their value. But here's what happens: I buy a bag at the bank. I bring it home and dump it out. My 5 and 6 year old dig through it and search for 2009 (which they call special pennies) and 2010 (which they call shields) plus Canadians (which they call Sarah pennies) and wheats (which they call Ruthie pennies) any other stuff (world coins) which they call Daddy pennies. Unless mommy likes it, in which case she trumps us all.
So yeah... we have a 2009-2010 bucket started.

I just pulled enough out to fill a small jar to have some nice looking ones, and then I stopped. Now I just throw them in with the zincs.

I pull the nice and shiny ones and separate into their different designs with a container for each.

I only pull the shinny perfect ones until I have a roll of each, still working on completing a roll of the LP4's. 2009's are more rare than wheats in my area.

I did pull close to a box full of the nicest ones to look for errors.I searched a bunch and didn't have any luck,so just last week I placed them in the dump containers and said goodbye.I just figure that there are so many being saved that it will be 20years before anymore premiums could be realized, they may have low mintages but if 20% of them are saved in BU condition they will be everywhere.I did well enough flipping a few fresh boxes on ebay and I have a few rolls put away.
Has anyone found a copper 09 in circ?

Hadn't thought of that. Were the coins from the UNC sets copper, or was it just the proofs, or both?

I don't really see them ever being worth more than FV in the long run. The 1959s were also the first penny change in 50 years. How did that turn out...

They will get hoarded for a while. Once the hype settles down, then people will realize they are never going to be worth anything, then they will get dumped. Just like the bicentennials, or the WJ nickels.

I was getting a lot of solid rolls of WJ nickels in CWR's...

Put them in the zinc pile along with all the shields.

Not enough options. There wasn't one for "I'm pulling the shiny ones until I have/got a roll or two" or "I'm pulling them even though I don't think they will be valuable."

seems odd you would add that comment, about 98%-99%% of the ones i see are shiny.no need to add that choice in the poll

A large quantity of these coins have been saved, and they will have very little numismatic value in the future.

The 2010 design will be the continuous cent design for the indefinite future.

I pull only the best BU cents that I see. Most go right back into the zinc pile. I don't believe these will be worth a whole lot in the future however.

I pull them for my children. Actually they pull them for themselves when they are working as my sorting laborers. Cheap payment won't last once they're older.

Just my two cents!
