You know I was just thinking that I havent found any silver or wheats in pocket change in quite some time. I got a Canadian quarter (non-silver) about a month ago but that's all I remember over the past few months. I am in a big time drought.

My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

I got a Zimbabwean cent back last week. That's got to be worth at least one-zillionth of a U.S. zinc.

A two-fer day! At a gas station a got a '57 D wheat, not that big of a deal really. But at McDonald's this morning I got a '53 D quarter. Lucky day I guess. Also some silver came in the mail today....

Did you reach over and help yourself or did you ask nicely if you could buy it? Just kidding...I always try to look into their trays but no luck so far. I did a zinc dump today and it was the oddest thing. The lobby has a setup where you talk to the tellers by video and microphone and do your transaction as if you were in the drive through. Yep they had the plastic tube and everything. Weirdest thing I have seen in a bank in a long time. I dont think a $25 box of pennies will fit too well in one of those containers.

I got a 1913 cent a few weeks ago in a handful of change my sister-in-law gave me.

Are you throwing that out?

I work at a gas station. No One ever gets silver or copper when I'm working. Thats half the fun of the job is looking at all the money. I've had some pretty good find in the years I've worked there. It's amazing what people will pay with for cigs or beer. Guy cam in a month or so ago with $14 in 1964 Kennedy Halves, I gladly excepted.

My wife use to count the money for a local department store and she could tell if there was a silver coin just by hearing its ring. Be on the lookout too for the old Treasury Notes with the red seal on the bills.

Ya, I can tell the second it hits the counter if it's silver. The 1965 quarters throw me off sometimes. I have picked up 50 or so silver certs and red certs while working there. I normally also take all the $1 star notes out and sell them in bundels of $50 with a little profit. great way to make so extra cash.

My wife found a 1944 war nickel while cashiering at a PetCo last night in Nebraska. I have found two silver dimes and twelve wheat pennies in my families change jars this year.

found a 1987 $1 peso coin in a CWR of quarters today at work. It is the same size as the quarter and sounds like an Italian L.50 I found last year.

A silver quarter in change is awesome! I've found a few myself. It doesn't get much better than that. Are you in the Midwest by chance?

I usually don't eat McDonald's but today for lunch I did. I got a 1960 penny that looks like it just came from the mint and a decent 1939 nickel. Pretty cool to get both at the same time.

Good price on the nickel. Seems to me that there is more silver pulled out of the Midwest. I find a few silver coins in my change every year.

Found a 1928 wheat cent in the penny dish at the local sub shop this weekend. I replaced it with a corroded ugly zinc cent. Sounds like a fair deal to me. :)
