I made this little calculator in Excel.

You must be logged in to see this link.

You will need to use Internet Explorer and allow ActiveX for it to function. It doesn't work in FireFox.

The calculator allows you to enter:

The spot price for silver.
The spot price for copper.
The number of each type of US silver and copper coins.

It then shows:
Silver ounces and value for each type.
Total silver ounces.
Total silver value.

Copper pounds for 95% pennies.
Total copper pounds.
Total copper value.

Total value of all coins.

This is a handy tool for getting the exact spot value for a mixed bag of coins.

It would be great to make this an iPod app, if that is possible. I would welcome anyone who can help me do that.

If anyone sees any errors in the standards or formulae, please let me know.
