Has anyone tried buying stuff from individual sellers using silver bullion or coins?
For example, I'm thinking about buying a gently used 4x4 ATV for $2500 to $3000. That would be 155 to 185 oz Ag, at current spot.
Anybody have any stories about trying or succeeding with this? Is spot price the fair value, or should there be a discount or premium for transacting in silver?
If the person you are purchasing from believes in PM collecting then you would probably get a discount. If you have to explain the value then their probably going to turn around and sell it, so it might have a premium. I have only made small trades with individuals with 90% silver for goods.
