My best percentage ever on a customer wrapped roll...40% plus one wheat. Not bad considering I normally average under 15%.

You can get 40 kilo bars at spot price if you buy 40 metric tons (copper is $6561 per MT). I am not sure how much if any of the shipping would be covered, but you would definetely be responsibilty for picking it up at a major port of your choice.

Now I just need about 80 people to split the deal with. Anybody own and drive a semi for a living?

Hmmmm.. Tempting!

We have the trucks, the scales to ensure we didn't get shorted, and the forklifts to unload it right here at work. And we are near a port. Of course I would probably have to hide my share at work too. She already thinks I have too much copper at home.. imagine that.

But why pay spot when we can get copper pennies for below spot?

I've been told that, too. grrr... I've had to redouble my efforts this morning just to get a few boxes. Banks here are tapped out!

Maybe instead of pennies, we should all just chip in and buy a copper mine.

If you can find 79 others let me know. Maybe if you posted in Buy, Sell, Trade we could seal a deal.

Yesterday was a fantastic coin day.. see my seperate post about a Christas story in addition to the following about what I found sorting.

Between regular sorting, zinc resorting, and then checking the final rejects by hand as I was loading them into the rolling machine I managed to find 6 Indian cents! This is twice as many as I have found before in all the millions of pennies I have sorted. Finding even one is a rate occurance. It also included a new oldest coin from circulation for me.. an 1864! My previous oldest was an 1865. The Indian cents were dated 1864, 1883, 1887. 1897, 1898, and a 1907 in VF. Also found 2 Canadian George V 1936 pennies and 2 1915-S cents in low grade.

Interesting thing.. I didn't even capture all of these on the zinc resort.. I found a few of them when loading the final rejects by hand into my wrapping machine. It is possible I didn't have the sensitivity set high enough.

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Actually sorted some today.

$25 CWR
458 Cu
3 Cu CA
3 non-Cu CA
4 wheats
2 of those dimes
18.3% (Kinda low for CWR around here).

$9.00 CWR That's right, nine dollars worth.
233 Cu
2 wheats
25.8%

Only sorting I've done for a while. Really considering the Ryedale as the need-to-be-sorted pile is getting large, at least by my meager standards. My pile is not nearly as large as others....

OK, OK, some of us have gotten a little behind on our piles.. LOL.

I have a Ryedale, so I suppose I don't really have an excuse.. cept maybe the day job, and the garage conversion I was working on. I am starting to chip away at the pile a little now that I have things organized out there in my man cave. I was in penny heaven this weekend running all my various machines at once. I am strongly considering buying another Ryedale or 2 to add to the lineup and speed up production even more. They are fantastic machines! If you don't have one yet you should certainly get one. You deserve it.. you've been good.

I have to agree with HCBT when he says "If you don't have a Rydale yet, you should certainly get one."

How many other hobby investents can pay themselfs of in a matter of weeks?!?

I have only had mine for about 3 and 1/2 weeks and still find it amazing!

The problem is once you convert from hand sorting to Ryedale your problems just change...

you go from having to many coins waiting to be sorted to "where can I get more pennies to sort?" lol

Happy Prospecting

LOL.. so true! And then when you solve that problem you have a new one.. "Where can I get rid of all this zinc?"

Congratulations on the Indian Heads, HCBTT! I've only found a few, and certainly none that old! That's astounding! For all the pennies you sort, you were due.

It really shocked me to find that many Indians in one day. I had only found 3 up till this weekend with all the pennies I sort. But then Saturday was my lucky day!

Had another great coin day today! Went back to the bank where I got all the silver halfs on Saturday to see if the lady deposited anything else like dimes or quarters that I forgot to ask for in my excitement over getting the half dollars. No pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, silver collars, 2 cent pieces, 3 cent pieces, 20 cent pieces or old paper money.. just the halves.. but now I can sleep well.

Then I went to a new bank that I had not been to before. Asked for half dollars and they had 18 of them loose. No silver though (pout).. oops, better not pout.. or Santa might not bring me my new Ryedale. They did have 20 customer wrapped rolls of pennies for me though.

Then I went to my dump bank and asked for some pennies there. The teller asks me "how many do you want?" (They should never ask me that.. LOL) "How many do you have" I respond. He says "A lot.. maybe 2 hundred dollars worth" I tell him I will take them all. He is really happy to get rid of them.. seems he has been procrastinating about bagging them up and shipping them off. Turns out there are 251 customer wrapped rolls! Woohoo, my lucky day again! Then we get to nickels.. he has about $140 worth of customer wrapped rolls. I was only able to buy $50 worth.. I ran out of money. Hey, it could happen.. what with Christmas shopping and all.. LOL. I will go back and pick up the rest later this week. I felt like Santa lugging my bag of coins out of there.. I had a hard time lifting it.

Santa is also bringing me a new Ryedale. Hey, it's Red.. very Christmasy.. I been good!

Then to top things off for the Xmas season I got an awesome gift from my sweety. She had a custom full size street sign made up for me for my shop.. PENNY HOARD LN I absolutely love it! Maybe she is finally starting to understand.. or at least go with it.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
