I'd take a vdb over most Indian heads any day. Congrats!

About time I sorted. I had some "old" looking rolls waiting to sort. I took the oldest and counted them separately. Ready for this.
$7.50 in "old" CWR 739 Cu 2 CuCA 1 '26 King George 10 wheats My heart dropped when I saw a 1909....no S or V.D.B. That equals 752 coppers total. Two extra. That puts the Cu total actually a smidgen over 100%!!! Best for me ever. Hoping for that Indian...not yet.
$17.50 CWR 538 Cu 1 CuCA 1 nonCuCA 7 wheats eldest, 1915 30.1% Cu Odd note: Included ten complete rolls of almost perfect condition '82's. Probably why Cu totals are so high.
By far the best returns I have had. Did cheat by separating the oldest ones from the others? They came from different tellers from the same bank at the same time when I asked for a box. Combined totals 1290/2500 for 51.6%. Great either way you look at it.

| Got lucky at my new source bank Friday. Went in to pick up my regular weekly $200 worth of pennies and they actually had $350 for me. It was just like Christmas! |

I messed up my sort report. Its hard for me to keep track since I am returning partial loads of zincs based on how full the machines are at the credit unions. This makes it difficult to say which zincs came from which batch of boxes and thus impossible to give an accurate copper count. So I am stopping reports, until I get an easier process in place to count my coppers.
In any case, if I hit my curent goal I should be sorting about 25 boxes and collecting about 17,500 coppers a week. |

| That's a lofty goal horgad. You may just have to ask Santa to bring you one of those Ryedales. At that volume you might just have to wait for them to change the bags occasionally. You can do bulk reporting where you group all the batches together over a month. |

My % down here in SoCA seem to hole true for even small qty. Last weekend I only got $9.00 in cents and 18.??% were CU. That is when I got my 1911 also got two mexican copper colored and cent sized coins. I think one was 10 centavos and the other was 20 centavos.
12-6-07 UPDATE: Just got my best CU % so far this AM. Went on my morning walk B-4 work at a local stripmall and found 24¢ It was a bunch of coins 9 were cents and of that 4 were CU that makes 44.4% |

Resorted the last of my my zincs which were ready to cash in to the bank. I did not expect anything but Zinc since I had already sorted once. Via my Ryedale, using the 3 step method:
10609 Total 10599 Zinc 10 Coppers 0 Canadian 0 Wheat
The 3 step method works for me. |

| It's permanent, however could be lifted some time in the future when most of the copper coins are out of circulation. Why melt when you can sell at a better price unmelted. Many of the members are getting double face value. #1 Heavy scrap copper is going for $2.48/lb. It takes approximately 155 pennies to make 1 lb of copper. At 2 cents each, that's $3.10/lb selling without melting. |

| I am still sorting 50-150/week but will not be posting each week (I will keep reading) I will post year end totals and % for entire year. larger sample size... If I find a nice coin I will still post it. This week I got a 1914(D? S? wait for it).. in VG shape but regardless how long I looked I could not make a darn mint mark apear. |
Selling Ryedale sorted USA cents 1.5 each + shipping over 500fv 1.5 each +1/2 shipping If you pick up 1.35 each located MT/ND boarder. after Ryedale sorting they are hand sorted to remove canadian then rechecked with Ryedale to insure all copper and count out $50 FV then placed in cloth bags and sealed with #1 copper wire. |

Snappy.. I've got a whole bunch of spare D's for sale. They are currently attached to 2007-D pennies. I could maybe chisel one off for ya. Oh darn, you probably want a copper D rather than a zinc D to put on that old penny.
Tourney64 makes a good point. Why melt when you already have a government round with a given amount of copper that sells for more? Actually, the pennies would be classed as #2 Copper rather than #1 because of the 5% impurities so the scrap price would be even lower. |

Sorted $25 Brinks box 719 Copper 28.76 %
Not Included in copper #'s 8 Canadian CU 0 Canadian Other 13 Wheats 0 Dimes
One of the wheats looked to be a proof 1944 in almost perfect condition. Very deeply minted it was awesome.
Cashed in all my zincs except the ones I just sorted, late today at one of my credit unions. They had to replace the bags 3 times as it only holds 2 - $50 bags. They had a line practically going out the door at 5 PM because they kept having to take care of the coin sorter. I felt bad as I don't want to create ill feelings when I come in there. I'm going to make sure I don't take more than $75 each visit. Hopefully they won't have to replace bags at all when I'm there.
I will sort $40 CWR on Saturday. |

| I need to get a credit union like that! I guess I would have to pace myself too. Would hate to go in one day and see my picture on the wall with the banner BANNED FROM THE CREDIT UNION |
