$200 nickels gave up 3 WN and 1 buffalo.
One of my pickups has switched from dunbar to brinks so box #2 was my first brinks box.
I'm not unhappy with the switch.

I have been blessed by the Ag averages.

Dropped in at my source bank yesterday to order more halves and pickup some pennies. The best teller says, "We have $50 in halves if you want them." I said I wanted all they had. She goes to another teller and brings back some old CWRs that have AbbottCoin, New York, NY, USA on the front. A couple look to be taped together with old tape. It was all I could do to keep from ripping them open on the counter.

ALL silver! All 100 coins are silver!

Here is the final score:
9 Walkers
10 Franklins
64 90% Kennedys
17 40% Kennedys

Head teller out sick on Monday. Nobody ordered my halves this week.

Maybe somebody else will get some of the SKUNKs that I've been getting.

I did not do any back flips but I did call the bank to see if they received any other coins when they acquired the halves. No luck.
Thanks to everyone for the nice words. I stopped at 2 other banks today and asked for halves one said ‘no’ the other said “We will sell you all $11.50 that we have but you will have to talk to our account manager about opening an account here.” I got the loose coins – no keepers, I did not open an account.
I want to point out that I’m still only #3 on the top ten list and my percentage is only 1.31%. I’ve looked at 8100 coins this year. I’ve also averaged 7 skunks out of 8 boxes.
I asked the best teller what kind of chocolate they like. She said "We take any kind of chocolate here.” Do any of you have some advice for me?

$500.00 Halves.

Coin Wrap Inc. box dated 02/23/2009.

Neat box of stuff!!!

(1) 90% - 64
(3) 40% - (3)67
(2) NIFCs - 04P, 05D

1986-S (proof) Statue of Liberty commemorative half dollar (1st MODERN commem. half for us).

Lastly...too weird. Magician's coin (???) - 1980-P Kennedy Half (obverse) w/ 1967 British One Penny on the reverse. It appears that the 80-P Kennedy has been hollowed out and the 67 British Penny is seated inside.

Hopefully pictures to follow tomorrow.

Take care,

Jeff

I've been kinda cheating all along, but I think some might like my story. One of my best friends... his wife works at a bank. One day at their house, we were talking about what it's like to be a bank teller, and all the funny stuff people bring in... and she brought out a cigar box (isn't it always a cigar box?) with a bunch of coins in it. It was everything she had ever gotten as a teller over the years. Lots of silver. So I tell her if she ever wants to sell it, I can make her some money. Long story short, they had some hard times and needed to sell it, so I did. Made them a buncha money.

Chapter two. She calls me one day and says someone brought in a bunch of silver half dollars, do you want any? I said I will take them all, no matter how many there are. So that time we EACH got over $100 face, mostly 90%, at face value. Again, I sold them, and made us both some money. Now she gets it: call Aaron when stuff comes in!

Chapter three. In the summer of 2009, we moved several hundred miles away. But maybe 3-4 other times since, she has had people come in with large amounts of all silver, not always halves, and one time someone even brought in over 800 wheats. And every time, she says I can only offer you face value for this, and every time... they accept. So each time she wraps it up and sends it to me and I make her some quick bucks. And I get a small cut. Plus the knowledge that they're being sold to someone who won't make the same mistake and take them back to the bank!

So here we are in 2010. We went and visited our good friends for a couple days while we were on vacation. She told me she got moved up to the main branch (of three in the town). And she had a PENNY BOX FULL of silver halves. Yep. $326 face, all 40%. Plus three 90% halves - two Ken64s and one Ben. Strange thing is, these coins are all rolled by date! Not BU, but solid date circulated rolls! This was a hoarder's stash! She said she thinks the guy probably died and his wife brought them in.

Anyway, here I am with a box full of 40%ers. By the time I had driven back home, I already had the 90%ers and four rolls of 40%ers sold.

Oh, and one more thing. She's totally hooked now. The main branch gets all the coin from the other branches in town, and this branch has an automated coin counter in the lobby. She told the person who changes the bags that she is going to look through the half bag when it gets full. She even told me that right now it has over $700, so it should be full soon. AND SHE DOESN'T EVEN NEED TO BUY THE BAG! She can just look through the bag whenever she isn't busy, take the ones she wants, replace them with the ones she already has, and give it back when she's done! Sheesh!

So there you have it. My silver connection. Anyone want some 40%ers? :) I gotta BUNCH of 'em!

Funny thing. There's a coin show the first Sunday of each month near me. I have a dealer that gives me a decent deal on whatever quantity I come up with. But my friend usually calls just a few days before the show... late enough that she can't priority mail them to me in time to sell. But I have other buyers. And now I might have even more, eh?
