This is info I've gathered from the net and other sources over the last several months. We all know how accurate info on the net can or cannot be. So take this info with a grain of salt.
Also, the melt values are theoretical...

How was the $85 price arrived at?
I'd say closer to $15, and that may be a bit high. (Unless they are all high end Uncirculated coins? but most of them are very common, even in uncirculated grades).
By the way, there was no Swiss 20 Franc coin issued in 1955, it is probably a 20 Rappen (cents) coin. There was no Swiss 10 Franc coin issued in 1952, either (probably 10 Rappen)
The 1944, Swiss 5 Franc, was a commemorative silver coin for the Battle of St. Jacob. If it has a guy on the front about to throw a grenade and holding an arrow in the other, THAT is a $50 coin in uncirculated.

I would pay $8-$15 USD for this batch, depending on the particulars of the coins. I want to buy this if you don't.

I know very little to nothing about foreign coins but the way I look at this is if you like something, the price is decent, the condion is really decent and if you just want them with little intension of selling them again, go for it. YES, someday you may say WOW did I pay to much for those or you may say boy did I get a great deal, but that would be in the future. For now when you buy something for a hobby, the price is seldom important as long as you can afford them. Ever see model plane hobbiest with a plane that cost hundreds of dollars at a field and it crashes? The crash is not the point, although a bit irritating, but the adventure of the hobby is what there is to remember. |
