This is my first post here, awesome forum! I can't believe the quantity of the pennies you guys sort, it's insane!

I was curious about the hobby so I bought $25 in pennies from my local bank (I'm in a town with a population of 700), and I got decent percentages.

Out of 2500 pennies I got:
881 copper (35.24%)
6 wheats (0.24%) Oldest was 1944
5 Canadian (.2%) Oldest was 1952.

The teller there thought it was funny that some kid was buying so many pennies, but she said they were fine with giving me the pennies, they just hate it when people come back with sorted pennies wanting more rolls and told me to dump at other banks.

Welcome to the forum ish. I want to see those cool pics. Afraid the odds are really long on finding that 1909-S VDB. But hey, it could happen. I found mine in a little baggie of 30 wheat cents I probably paid a buck for.

Just keep sorting decent quantities and you will inprove your odds.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.
