Just found a nice looking 1931 wheat in a Wells Fargo roll. According to my coin magazine, in it's condition, it is worth close to a dollar. Great find for me, since I have not yet found an IH. All my good stuff comes from Wells Fargo. For those of you beginners who haven't decided on a dump bank yet, do not choose Wells Fargo to dump! |

No need to weigh the 1982's, Silverguy23. Just drop them on a nice hard wood surface. The copper ones will ring and the zinkies will just make a thunk noise. |

Slow day at the shop so I ran out and bought a box of pennies to hand sort....
697 1959-82 copper cents 14 wheats 6 Canadians
Oh and out of curiousity, I put counted any 2009's. There were 14 total in the box. Anyone else do this just to see what's making it back into circulation? |

Quick story. Last week on a trip to the bank, I declined one box since about half a dozen rolls were obviously short counted. I came back today and they had corrected the shortage so I took the box. Here is my count on this box of CWR.
573 Cu +12 S mints +5 Cu Canadians +11 wheats (including an '09) +85 1982s about 750 coppers, assuming about 90% copper on the '82s. The 09 was a filler for me. |
Grandpa always told me, "Back in 1964..." I listened.

$25 CWI box from 2/9/10
4 Canadian ('65, '72, '81, '94) 0.16% 8 wheats ('37P, '46P, '51P, '52D(x3), '54D, '56D) 0.32% 64 1982 (50 Cu/14 Zn) 2.56% 689 Cu (includes 50 1982 listed above) 27.56% 1,749 Zn (includes 14 1982 listed above) 69.96%
Previous box had a much better Cu %; curiously enough, I picked up both of these boxes from the same bank on the same day. Box #2 was from 2008 I think, as there were no 2009 pennies in that box. |
