My bags are still running in the mid 30% range. Seems to be more dimes in there than usual. I'll take 'em. Nothing fantastic, but then again I don't look for anything....

Live free or die. Plain and simple.
"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. My average for copper pennies is 15% to 20%, not near as much as some of your percentages, everyone. |

I buy from a retired fella that has a little coin table at our local flea market in Central Florida. He will sell me $100 face of Memorial pennies (coppers) for $150. He hand sorts and says he doesn't mind doing it. I just paid him for another batch this last Friday. He says he is getting about 20% copper from the banks he uses. He also gets a few wheaties and saves some of the S mints. He told me a new customer asked him about this and he quoted him $175 for $100 face. A local coin shop (more of a big outfit) is selling coppers for 2x face. Or at least that's is what they are asking. Tomorrow I will put in another $100 face order with my flea market guy. I think the days of him doing this for me will be limited. |

Got something in a Brinks roll that I have never gotten before. A silver colored Belize 2006 5 cent piece. At first I thought it was Canadian play money.. but closer inspection showed it is made of aluminum and was an actual coin from Belize. |

Comments- Pretty typical box, but the Canadians were higher than usual. |

I welcome you too, JWRAY! I'm also new, but I'm sure you wouldn't believe that if you look at my post count. Don't make the mistake of posting too much like me! |

First time post here.
I have been handsorting for a a little over a couple of weeks. My goal is a box a night, but work and such intereferes. It takes me about 1 1/2 hours, including setup, breakdown, and the "help" of my 3 year old. I think I am through about 7 boxes ($175) now, and here are my estimates (it's all in coffee cans).
CU 20-25%, but my 1982s are waiting for evaluation. I have pulled about 75 wheats, 1 steel wheat, and the oldest a 1910. I separate the S mints and have about a roll of those. Maybe a roll of CAD, with two George VI's. Two foreign coins (UK and Bahama) 5 dimes, and a 1962 cent with one side that looks like it was painted silver or chrome-plated.
Waiting to pull enough copper to buy a Ryedale. It's the only way I can get domestic clearance. :)

Grandpa always told me, "Back in 1964..." I listened.

Welcome, "BeNice." Like your name, it's appropriate for such a place as this. Haha, domestic clearance. What was your UK coin? |
