I currently sort all CWR's. I had alway wondered if I was getting shorted in the number of pennies that I received in each $50 bag. I got a coin countet about a month ago and have been pleasantly surprised to find that 14 out of the last 15 bags have had OVER $50 in them. I have started a spreadsheet tracking it and since June 19th when I started it I am actually a total $3.76 over what was supposed to be in the bags. I also counted the coin in about 10 bags prior to starting the spreadsheet and all but one or two of those was over as well.

| It seems you have hit a stride of luck. I sort CWR and I always get shorted. There is every once in a while where you can tell the people who rolled the coin did not want any pennies leftover, so they jammed them all into one roll. Do you live in an area that has not been affected by the current slowdown? I think this may also play a part as well. |

| I have noticed that the CWR that use the cointainer / crimp style have a good chance of either being over or even better of having a dime in them. I live in MI- so there is no shortage of slowdown here. |

Excellent average so far on the extra coins!
I like to search CWR too. But I've had some very bad luck with quarters CWR. Several times at the same bank, the rolls have either one quarter or several missing from about 10 rolls or more. I was finding silver quarters at that bank in their CWR. But now I've stopped searching them, since the finds are sporadic. |

| I get CWR once in a while, the last batch of $25 face I got was short by about 35 cents, one roll was short 10 cents! These rolls can be hit or miss, they could either be full of copper and wheats, or full of zinc and either damaged street pennies or water fountain pennies. |

Same thing here in N.C., where our economy is not so great.
One other thing I've noticed since the economic slowdown -- there are more nasty pennies in rolls. Green, gooky, stuck together, you name it. |

| The CWR's I get are short all the time. I had one roll with 30 cents or something, it was literally about half the size. I don't know how the bank accepted it, and of course I could not go back to ask for the difference. |

That is if you get pennies in CWR's
I have pulled more odd crap out of CWR's than I care to even try to name.
But it is fun and I enjoy the odd things I find. |

Here in Central Florida I have noticed that CWRs in the above mentioned type roll are invariably short. I love that sort to reroll my coins in to return to bank but I dread the initial counting of the roll because odds are it WILL be short.

CWR for me have the highest % of wheats and coppers. Regardless of the FV count, you come out over with the occasional dime. The only down side I've found is the dirty and green pennies that can be found from the CWR's. Which led me to buying latex gloves. I don't really want to try learning what Wilson's Disease feels like.

| I don't like CWR's. The coins are too dirty, and I'm often shorted on EVERY roll. One had 44 cents in it...RARELY do I get one with over 50. =/ |

Bags here always have dimes and quarters in them - I only get them from one source and it is an old Cummins Jet Sort machine. They are also heavy on the penny count. Downside is the extra dirt and crap that is not as prevalent with box rolls. They have about 8 per week waiting for me. The CWR's are good for one thing, in my opinion, which is to salvage the nicer paper tubes for rolling and storing wheats. |
