Had a fellow call me and say he heard that I would buy silver coins, I asked him what he had and he said about 20 barber dimes, I asked what he wanted and he said $2 apiece. He states that they are not slicks and have good readable dates. My question is this too much to pay and if so what is a fare price for them? Any help would be appreciated!

I said I would never pay above... I can always go lower. :)
I haven't bought Rosies for awhile, but I payed 9.2x face for Franklins on my last Craiglist deal...
I won't be buying dimes for awhile, I have enough, :) |

Remeber if you paying more than silver for them then you are paying for numismatic value. That means they have to have at least full rims, no dings, ect. |

I bought about 500 of them a while back for 10x face. I think 1.25-1.30 each would be a good price right now. |

Per a slightly outdated Redbook (dated 2006) Barber dimes in G-4 condition are listed at $2.00 each. Maybe this is where the guy came up with the price.
If these dimes are in G-4 condition you would be buying for the numi value, not the melt value. |
