If eBay buyers were that smart, wouldn't they Google "silver" and buy from APMEX or BullionDirect instead of paying $17 - $19 an ounce on eBay? People like the idea of bidding, are familiar with eBay, and want to get their 8% Cashback, or 2% Ebates, or 2% eBay Bucks, or use a gift certificate, etc. They also know that the item is available for immediate shipment, whereas ordering online may not be so quick, especially in this case. |

Apmex is over priced BS. Take there 'deal' and include shipping, and it ends up being more than 17-19 an ounce. |
Trolling is an art. |

That's cool that they offer tantalum coins. I did high density/pressure/temperature simulations of tantalum atoms for Sandia National Labs a few years ago. It's one potential metal they're considering for use in their You must be logged in to see this link. to generate x-rays for fusion power.
If tantalum does eventually get used in commercial fusion power generation, the price will probably go way up - I know for the Z-Machine to be commercial, they would have to make a massive earth-rattling explosion occur ten times a second, continuously. Every explosion destroys the inner components, which means more metal is necessary to replace the components. |
