Yes they are reputable and apparently they have been working two years to be able to make the coin. They have put it in their own slab probably so folks can't handle the coin because it is a brittle metal. |

The niobium and tantalum coins are interesting as well. I agree that the price is too high on the rhodium coin, but I imagine it is being marketed strictly as a curiosity/collector item. |

It should resell for more then spot too. I doubt there is any other good why to buy a small quantity of rhodium. |

I don't think there is another coin/bullion item on the market so it is neat to say the least. Also, the currect spot price is very low at the moment. The spot prices was as high as $10,000 a ounce at one point! |

According to Kitco: Rhodium is a silver-white metallic element, is highly resistant to corrosion, and is extremely reflective. It is used as a finish for jewelry, mirrors, and search lights. It is also used in electric connections and is alloyed with platinum for aircraft turbine engines. Another use is manufacturing of nitric acid and used in hydrogenation of organic compounds. Rhodium usage is dominated by autocatalyst applications where it is used together with platinum and palladium to control exhaust emissions Major sources of supply South Africa is the major source, accounting for almost 60% of the world's rhodium supply Russia is the second largest producer, although its sales are, as with the other PGMs, volatile and subject to political intervention. Historical prices High rhodium prices during the late 1980s led to increased rhodium production from South Africa. This increased supply was primarily responsible for a declining rhodium price during the 1990s.Interruptions to Russian supply since early 1997 have helped the rhodium price to recover strongly. Kitco provides historical price charts updating on a daily basis.

Cohen Mint is a reputable company. I understand the desire to purchase metals at the 'spot' price, but you have to realize that the mint is paying spot or near spot, and then going through a lot of work to get it into a coin form, then packaging and shipping it to you. Expecting to pay spot for a coin like this is like expecting to pay spot for a brand new set of solid sterling silverware. It just doesn't work like that, especially when it's the only coin of it's kind available. |

I wanted to bring this topic back around and let everyone know I ordered several of these on June 1st. It has been a month now and still no coins! They sent me a confirmation number but it just said a packing slip was made, not that it was actually mailed.
I am really disappointed. I am a reasonable person and would understand if there were production problems or if they were oversold and it might take longer to get but it is frustrating to feel like you are being shafted and folks aren’t being honest with you!

I don't think I will ...the guy puts out decent product but I would guess the demand caught him off guard when he sent out the blast PR. I just wish e would have been up front and said ...I can't sent it to you now but I will on X date. A month however is way too long! |

It's very disappointing that someone can't take 2 seconds and send a form email telling you and others what's going on; production can't keep up with new orders, etc. I was thinking of ordering, but hearing this,I'm going to hold off. |

No, unfortunately I never received the order. I also emailed and called the 800 number asking for them to please return my call or let me know the status of my order and never got a return call or email. It is sad......
I paid my order with PayPal but I used my AMEX. So, I called AMEX. They credited my bill on the spot for the amount charged and now it is their fight, not mine.
I’m guessing I should know the final outcome in a few weeks of what the problem was. Also, I told them if I can still get the coins great, if not; just make sure I have my money back!
Again, I have no hard feelings toward the company. I have purchased products from them in the past. Oh well..... |

Sorry to find out you never got the coins. Very weird and strange they didn't, at the very least, respond to your calls and emails. |
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of it's victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busy-bodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S.
