I found a man on Craigslist willing to pay 1.5x face value for pre-1982 copper cents.
I looked on websites like APMEX and they sell theirs for 2x face. I know ebay isnt the fairest place to look at price since the sellers have to pay ebays fees and commissions.
What is a fair selling price?
I have accumulated quite a bit and figured if I found someone who was willing to buy I would get rid of a little bit of my stash.
The local coin stores haven't seem to caught onto selling this type of investment yet. The coin store owner told me if 5 years there might become a more mainstreem market for them when copper starts to go back up.

SELLING COPPER PENNIES 1.4X FACE SHIPPED......“I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principles of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale” Thomas Jefferson |

| Considering that APMEX sells theirs for 2X face (plus shipping I assume) 1.5X face isn't a bad offer at the present time IF you really want to sell. One thing about Craigs list is that you shouldn't have to worry about shipping. Other than copper still being down from its price highs, shipping costs are a big consideration in buying or selling copper coins. |

| I would have to agree that 1.5x is a fair price. Thats a 50% return for now. Use that money to get more at face. |

That is a very fair price. You could sell your entire hoard to him and then replace it from other members here for slightly less, including the shipping. I say jump on it. How many tons does he want? |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

I would be all over it. It's a quick 50% profit, without the hassle of Paypal fees are boxing them up and shipping them. Like someone else said, take the quick profit and use it to acquire more. If you have 10,000 to sell him for $150, use the $150 and get yourself $150 face. Just like that you increased your hoard by 5,000 with a little bit of work.
How much is he willing to buy? |

| Agreed. I sold some of my load at 1.3x, which was less than I really wanted, but I'm trying to free up some room and at least it's something for my time and effort. I've got about 30 boxes at the bottom of my closet and that's pretty much my limit. 50% return is definitely something you can't get many places else. |
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?
