Now why would someone put that in a penny roll? Close to $18 worth of gold in that ring

| It was machine rolled. Maybe it fell off someone's finger as they were grabbing handfuls of change? |

Gotta wonder about a machine that would roll that up with the pennies. Maybe that's how I got those plastic pennies in a machine roll. Was it Brinks or paper wrap? I never wear jewelry when rolling coin.. more concerned about jamming up the machine than losing the jewelry. |

| It was a paper wrap. The ring is almost exactly the same diameter as a penny, if not for the slight bulge on the top. At first I thought it was a dime because of the distortion in the paper. Much happier to find a ring worth $18 though! |

| I know that wouldn't go through my rolling machine, it would have jammed. I found what looks to be a diamond earring in a bag a while ago. I have not taken it anywhere yet to see if it is worth anything or if it fake. |

| Sorry to get off the subject a little but was just curious how do dimes and other weird change end up in the bank plastic wrapped rolls; I assume those are done directly by the bank vs. the paper rolls that were probably from some customer. |

Both the plastic and the paper wrapped ones that are crimped on both ends are considered bank wrapped rolls and should not have those in it. Some home rollers can make the paper ones look like bank wrapped by using cartridge rolls and twist-n-crimp manual crimper or an electric crimping device with the proper crimping head, but I think the experienced penny hoarder could tell the difference. My automatic rolling machines and NDFARMER's would either jam or reject those coins or objects. My guess is they would jam on the ring, and all the dimes would shoot out into the reject bucket. Sometimes bank machines are set a little looser than our machines are. This could be to increase speed and reduce jams. It could also be that they are running looser due to more wear or improper maintenance. These looser tolerances allow dimes or other objects to get rolled. I process a serious amount of these rolls, both plastic and paper, and such occurances are quite rare. I did however get 2 plastic pennies in a paper wrapped bank roll the other day. |

As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?
