If it doesn't get too froothy in the near term, I think it continues to grind higher. The old support level was around $15.75; it's now a resistence level that silver must break through to go higher. Once above $15.75, it could go to $17 rather quickly. Going higher is a lot more fun than going lower!!

More important, silver technically is getting stronger. The Gold/Silver ratio is 63 today. The G/S ratio was around 50 last year. $1000 gold with a G/S ratio of 50, gets you to $20 silver again.

Silver $15.31 $15.36
Still rising after market. Silver is showing surprising strength recently. Wouldnt be surprised to see it break $16 soon. |

| We may see $20+ silver on this run up. If so, I don't think such high prices can be substained....yet. I'm not buying tomorrow. |

| I have been buying silver since it was $13 an oz. Nice to see a rally but I still think there is time to get in before it hits $20. Anyone here buying old foreign silver coins? For example, older circulated Australia, NZ, Canada, Mexico, GB, France, Germany, etc. I know it may be tougher to sell than U.S. but I think its a bargain and I like world coins. I picked up some world silver coin lots on eBay. Just add up the ASW from the coins to figure out intrinsic silver value. |

Took a look at that bulliondirect website, there's a HUGE buyer of silver right now propping up the floor. Whoever it is, pretty much has listings in all the junk silver categories. He's buying over $1 mil worth of junk.

Those are the "market maker" bids. There is speculation on other forums that it could be BullionDirect itself, or other large dealers. There are usually higher bids, but on the off chance that somebody decides to dump a whole bunch of metal, they are ready to gobble it up. |

BD is a great place to buy and sell bullion on their Nucleo exchange. Once you set up an account, they will give you a $10000 trading limit (more if you can justify it). You don't have to have the cash in your account to do trading, and you can send them a personal check for your buy trades. If you want to sell, you can trade using bullion in your account or send them bullion to make the trade. In addition, you can send them bullion you have on hand to be applied to your account, for possible future trades. The bid and ask prices are updated as bidders come and go, including the market maker, but those bids and asks you see are real. Sometimes in a volatile PM market you can get great deals if you place your bid a little higher than the market maker bid price if you are buying, or a little lower than the market maker ask price if you are selling.
The big trades are from the market maker, who will pull his bids when silver gets too volatile. |

silver premiums dropped a few weeks ago. there were rumors that a huge number of junk silver bags came on the market. a few shops were selling at or below spot. I picked some up at 10x. surprising to see folks buying big now that the price is higher. |

Silver spot still hasn't broken through $15.75 decisively. This was the major support level last year as it went down. Let's hope that this level is taken out real soon.

It's only 15.85 right now. I'd like to see a closing price like 16.50 or better, right here, right now. |

If the silver market is in a healthy bull climb, it should be up and down like the stock market does in normal conditions. Some days up, some days down. Moves should tend to be small as in 5c to 30c (1-2%). Too many strong up days tell you there's more speculation than investment. In that kind of market we will get a blow off like we did last year when speculators figure they've gotten all they're going to get and then shorted the market.
