I found this half I set aside today too.
Not sure if it would be an error.
They both weigh 11.0 grams but the one looks like part of it got stamped very light. The 00 are barely raised and the part of the TRUST isnt even there.
Could someone have made this error? Looking closely I don't see how anyone could smooth it down without causing damage?
Top pic is the faded one and bottom pic is I guess what one should be like.

| I think this coin is just a weak strike in the lower portion of the coin. I suppose it might qualify as an error. Perhaps a Realcent expert can qualify this coin. |

Sometimes grease builds up in the die and parts of the coin look lightly struck. I think that is what you have. It is a type of error, but not really in demand. A light strike would be more like an '83 or '84 Half, not much defination all over both sides of the coin. You can see the bottom of JFK's hair has good defination in your picture. |

I find lots of weak strikes. I never save them. I also rarely look for errors or die varieties.
In the numismatic world a weak strike make a coin less appealing. For certain dates, most coins are weakly struck, and even the decent or "average" struck ones command a premium. |
As far as I know, it is stated "In God We Trust" on the US dollar. How can I trust this currency if I do not believe in God?
