I have one of those last Mexican pesos (1957-1967) that have like only 10% silver content. At today's prices, what is the app. value of it? Thanks!

I don't see the exact coin you're referring to, but maybe this can give you some idea: You must be logged in to see this link.

From a pure bullion standpoint Mexico 1P coins from 1957-1967 are .100 fineness silver coins with .0514 oz ASW per coin. At today's spot of $14.73, each coin would contain $0.757122 of silver .

Dang,
I knew my mexican peso had little silver in it, but I figured it at least had $1.50-$2.00 worth of silver in it. It would be nice if I had a pickup truck load of them I guess.........

I bought a mint set of the current Mexico coins in 1960 in a plastic case for $1 from some guy in Texas who lived near the border. It contained the 1P, 50c, 20c, 5c, and 1c. I've still got that plastic case with the coins in it. At that time, US $1 was in 90% silver. Wish I would have spent a little more and bought a 2P or 2.5P Mexico gold coin instead .

I've got lots of Mexican silver. Mostly Un Peso and 50 Centavo pieces. Some eight reales, caballitos, etc., but not many. I like the old look/feel of them. Mexico is known for quality silver an gold (see Spanish Galleons and Pieces of Eight). Great bullion/numismatic investment, if that's possible to be both (pre '33 gold?). Rather inexpensive these days.
