well i got a call from my sister today who is a bank teller, she told me a older lady came in today to cash in some change, the change was three rolls of IH nickels, and eight rolls of wheat pennys. i just got back from getting them and have yet to go thru them ill let you know what i find. she also gave me a roll of uncirculated john tyler dollar coins.
WOW! I feel bad for the old lady who didn't know better, but that is a super find.
And he that hath lyberte ought to kepe hit wel / For nothyng is better than lyberte / For lyberte shold not be wel sold for alle the gold and syluer of all the world. -Caxton's edition of Aesop's Fables, 1484
Hate to hear stories where old ladies cash in stuff like this for face value. The fact that she is cashing in change may mean that she either needs the FRN's or maybe these were from her late husband and she has no idea what they are worth. Nice find though. Let us know if you find any good dates.
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.
yes im sure it is from her late husband, my sister told me she comes in all the time to cash in her coins a little at a time, im sure she knows what it is she is cashing in but i dont think she knows that they are worth more than face, but i told her to hold on to anything she brings in.
