Well, so much for that idea. I recieved a call from my source bank, "management has informed me that I am no longer permitted to order large ammounts of coins for non-branch use". Good thing I was already lining up another source bank.
Ask them how mgmt feels about having you deposit $1000 in coins every week |

spent 900 on cwr today..... 4.50 in halves. . one teller, had to have the boss help her count. another was 'foriegn' i could not understand her. or she me.
started yet another account. usbank. then got 162 in nics, 80 dimes, and i had cleaned her out last week. only $10 in pens.
due to turn in deadline of teh morning. the dimes are just getting edge sorted. at one out of three. i dont hold much chance of actually finding silver.
oh , and the other night, a 5 pence piece and one cnd sailboat.

Brought home 3 boxes today.
Found 6 40%er's and 8 NIFC's. Also found one of my own marked coins.
I dumped them at my CU on the 2nd of this month. Got one of them back today in the boxes I got from 5/3.

quarters..........
i sorted the 500 bag from the cu counter. 80% states. not a silver .
doing 400 of cwr, for whatever reason, i decided to weigh them... i know, new toy. ..
soooooo one was short 2, one was short one.... and was off on weight to boot....... a cdn.
and that was just the first c.....cant wait to see what i find in the other 300.

| I know I've read on here about coinstar rejecting the silver coins (I can't remember where it was on here, tho.) I found my first silver dime sitting in the tray in the coinstar today. Nice! |

If that was the case, why wouldn't the coin machines for the coin handling companies have the same thing? Shouldn't we never find silver then? |

two possibilities come to mind; 1) The tellers are incorrect, and the machines reject only certain silver coins while others pass. 2) Different machine types respond differently. A machine that works electronically like a Ryedale would reject all silver. One that works by weight might be more critical of silver, but might accept some. The other day I found 7 rosies in the reject bin of a TD counter. Strange coincidence, all 7 silver, but how many more were accepted? |

TCF uses machines made by CoinScan in their lobbies. Those machines will reject Canadian Cu but will accept Canadian Zn and CuNi. I have also seen them accept Panamanian coins.
One branch lets me buy the rejects the employees collect. In those rejects I have found Canadian Ag, but no U.S. Ag.
I have had them reject BU U.S. pennies at a rate of almost as fast as I pour them in, but accept the skanky ones with no problem.
There seems to be no rhyme or reason with those machines...
