one box today: 2 '64P 1 '67D 1 '69D 2 '02P&D 1 '74 Proof(ruined, but it still has an "S")
PS - I like your grading scale kieblera5, it's a lot easier to work with. (My '74S would be a 3) What do you charge to slab a coin? |

Even if you pinch a penny so hard you make Lincoln cry, you can't knock a WL for $1.50, can you? - I'd like to get a box like that 50 times a week. |

friday bank run
cashed in 750 of rolled halves and quarters.....
next bank... bought 400 in halves, 100 pens.
got to the truck. halves were 'marked'.
the pens. some were marked. but. he must have just been looking for wheats. as the copper is sstill there.
#2, 8.50 pen, 6 nic
#3 120 pen, 18 nics
#4 cu with a counter. took in '2# cottage cheese containers of pennies , nics, dimes, a bag of quarters , and a few of the halvs i sorted in traffic. 866 worth. manager said sureeeeeee you can buy the bags. so i got $50 of loose pens., 500 bag of quarters.
anyyyyyyyy one want to venture.. will i get anyyyyyyyy silver?? sorted a handfull...... running about 3-1 prestate vs state . while the bag i turned in was 95% states.
next, 1 roll halves,$6 dimes, $14 nics, 2.00 pens. aafter i spent almost an hour , getting an account there.
then the one where i get to go to the 'business teller'.... they had 640 of halves. took 220 of cwr, 100 cwr pens. they sold 300 of ikes , 20 minutes before i got there.
SORTED ALL THE HALVES , NOTHING NOTHING. NOTHING.

Ya I know, the WL was nice, but 2 days before I bought one to complete a roll .... lol...
Oh well, I buy junk silver too, gives me a reason to complete a second roll..
Good times going thru the dealers junk bucket. |

| I really lucked out today! I had $50 and asked for some halves. The teller broke open a new box in front of me to get 5 rolls. As she was placing the halves on the counter I noticed a dark coin on the end of a roll left in the box. I asked to trade one of rolls in front of me for that dark end roll. After a puzzled look from the teller I got the roll I wanted. That dark end coin was a 1964-d 90% silver JFK! It ended up being the only silver half out of all 5 rolls. |

For only 5 rolls that is a respectable score. If you can, go back and buy the rest of the box. Odds are good there is more Ag in it.

I always take it as a good omen when I see silver showing breaking open a new box. Go back! Waste no time! |

| I picked up 2 boxes today. I was very dissapointed and curious when the two sealed bank boxes (glued not tape) of machine wrapped rolls were marked in ballpoint pen "no silver". I will tear into them tonight to confirm and to look for odd clad coins. |

| Went for a drive around town and picked up 1 - 90% and 1 - 40% in loose halves. I bought a $20.00 roll at one bank and at one end of the roll there were 10 - 40%ers. One was a 65, I don't see many of those. Tomorrow I will pick up my first box at a new bank. |

2 boxes today no Ag but: 1 '03P 1 '05P 1 '06P and ... 1 '77D rotated die error (about 25 degrees out of whack) minor scrtches. You can see most of JFK's hair the Eagle's eye and tail fethers, nice reeeding. |

| Results from 2 boxes mentioned above. 1-67, 1-83 S clad prof, 1 07D. I was glad to see that the "no silver" markings weren't entirely true. |

Nice find on the rotational error. I always look hoping to find somethng like that, but never have.
On Monday I bought $9.00 in loose halves from three different tellers. I found one 1966. That made me happy. Actually just having the tellers say they had some halves made me happy as they are so scare in my area. And the bank tells me they can't get me boxes of halves to search through. |

| Try different branches of the same bank. The bank in my town told me they could not / would not order me boxes of halves, but another smaller branch in the next town over (~ 5 miles) gladly orders me 2 boxes of halves a week. |

250 of cwr dimes yielded..... a 61 , two 64 and my first proof a 68s
one of the three i saw on edge, others only upon looking at the dates. the proof caught my eye immediately with the mirror field , even if his face got some wear in the last 40 years.
nics......... a 100 box yielded one 43s
100 in cwr yielded a blue book slot filler 43d.
today i got to sort part of the 250 in cwr pens.
tomorrow i get to go to the credit union , with a counter, trade in all the sorted, and pick up any bags they have filled since last week.
not sure going through 500 in quarters for one 1941 is worth it though.

| Well, so much for that idea. I recieved a call from my source bank, "management has informed me that I am no longer permitted to order large ammounts of coins for non-branch use". Good thing I was already lining up another source bank. |
