Went to a old out-of-town country bank and picked up $150 worth and got 2 40%.

They said they had $450 more so I might have to keep that place in mind. Gotta love those country banks!

Thurs nite = skunk
Fri nite = 1 40%
I'm hoping the silver price drop will get some people to give up hope and start dropping some.
Interesting notes; One of my pickup banks changed their delivery from Garda to ???. Now I get square boxes of halves 25x2 layers.
I'll have to retry the pennies from them now since I used to avoid them because of low yield.

I may have to cut back to 2 boxes a week since a job change is making me lose my halves dump bank access. - OR, I'll have to open a new account somewhere.....

I'm back at school now and thought I would stop by the local wachovia branch and try ny luck. asked for halves and got the usual "well I have three...edna how namy do you have" My responce was "do you have more, like in rolls?"
"OH," she said "let me call the vault"
they had $80 and out of that I found a 1962 franklin a 2007 and a 197? with a counterstamp of the peace sign in the bottom right hand corner on the face of the coin.
Not to bad for $80.
I also went to one other bank and got a 1967 from a teller tray.

also I found two whole rolls of halves they are all 1995 (P i think) I don't follow how to grade but they look fairly un circulated with some scratches resulting from the mint/distributer.

Any premium or just the usual 49 cents per half

$160 got 2 40%
I had ordered a box and when I went to get $160 worth, she said she already had $130 and she wondered if that was ok? (lazy) I siad I would like $160 worth and got someone elses dumps. Hand wrapped I found 4 rolls of new coins a '95, '97, '76, and '71. I think the hypothesis about the fed releasing old stores of coins is right on. Will get rest tomorrow and se what happens.

About 6 weeks ago I got an entire $500 box of 1995Ps, all UNCs. Maybe that's correct.

I got lucky today. When I went to dump my last (hand searched) box of copper there was a silver stripe in the teller's coin tray just screaming at me.
I had $16.50 in rolled zinc (not too bad for a Loomis box these days) and asked if I could have "that funny looking half dollar in the middle".
I doubt she even knew that a 64 Kennedy is worth more than $0.50.
If only it were that easy every time!!!

If I see silver in the teller's tray, I buy the whole denomination. Arouses less suspicion.

Deal

Live free or die.
Plain and simple.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your council or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."

Thu night halves skunked. One more $500 pickup today.
I'm noticing a change in the contents though.
I'm finding great AU early halves, 71-79. That's really a change.

I have run across quite a few older tellers that do keep an eye out for Ag. I figure if it is in the tray, that teller does not have a clue and I just tell them it is the year missing from my collection.

I recently scored a '63 dime that way. I originally thought it was Canadian, hoping it would be Ag, I asked to buy it if it was a Canadian. Teller said it was U.S. and was starting to put it back. So I bought it. She obviously had no clue about Ag in the older coins.

I actually managed to buy a total of $181 CWR halves this week. I think most of them were somebody else's dump. I did find 4 40%.

I also picked up a box I ordered. I got skunked.

got the rest of a box I ordered, today. out of $310 I got a 65 40%. Total box yield was 3 40%.
I also got an 04 and 01. Keeping them for now but only out of compulsion, not really any premium value I know.

Heard from my buddy that sorts halves today. This week's Brinks box yielded 50 silver halves! 39 90% and 11 40%. 19 of the halves were Walking Liberies. Why can't I ever get a box like that?

Sorted $100 in walker halves from Bullion Direct, oldest 1917, newest 1945, only 25 had numis value, mostly culls and slicks grading up to good with a dozen very good.

Magnetic sorters, no moving parts except the coins

Sorted 3 more boxes this week. The first 2 were skunks. But Silver Claus made up for that today with the 3rd box.

22 40%
7 90%, 3 of them Franklins and '45 Walking Liberty.

Also found a '71s. It is clad not Ag.

I've been hitting my favorite Indian casino's half dollar machines this Labor Day weekend and have 27 40% silver halves so far!! But no 90% halves. I wonder if the coin sensors in the slot machine will take a 90% half or reject it? I love silver hunting at casinos and getting free drinks while doing so!
