I went back to my "silver" bank and got another $300 in halves and found 7 40% JFK's. I hope the tellers did'nt pull all of the 90% halves, but I'll take the 40% halves-they add up too.

Went through $370 in halves the other night. Found 1 clad Proof Bicentennial. No silver at all.

If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.

Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available.

I'm getting a box today. If I can't find some Indians maybe I will at least find some silver.

Last box (Tuesday) was a skunk. The one before that I pulled a 1976s silver proof, seriously impaired and 3 @ 40%.
Another box today from a new source and another box of pennies.

I expect som e pity on this one. I bought two boxes of halves today. I was very suprised to find that 3-4 of the rolls were $1 short. Anybody else see this with Fed rolls before?

Anyway, I have sorted $700 so far and found:

12-40%
2-1964
2-2003
1-2006
1 1972S

About a month ago I was shorted 74 cents in half dollar rolls. I got a quarter and a cent in place of two halves in the same roll.

I expect to be shorted every now and again on CRWs but not on Fed rolls.

I have even been lucky on CRWs before. It is nice to open a roll and see a Susan B $1.

Hey, I sort nickels. Usually I find about 1 war nickel per box. I'm thinking of getting the nickel chute to save me time for my ryedale(I have pretty bad eyes).

i usually dont collect or sort halves, but i was cashing a check yesterday which came to $23.49 and the 20 yr old female teller said do you want two quarters? if so i need a penny. On the spur of the moment i said "Do you have a half?" she said she didnt but she asked another teller who gave her one. she brought me a beautiful 1967 clad half. my eyes got wide and i said to the other teller " do you have any more of those?" "i have $12 dollars worth" so i ran down to her and hurredly looked thru them all, but alas, nothing but coppernickel.

a big help now is that young people have no idea that silver even exists in old coinage, this half could not have stood out more if it had a neon sign on it.

I love it when I go to a bank to get halves and hear the tellers ask eachother why someone would want them. I generally get silver and always go back.

At least it was not a total skunking.

Skunk and Skunk

Well, da-- ...ng. Two new skunk patches for you. Last box of nickels I sorted was a silver skunk. Got stiffed on my last box of halves by the bank. Told me they were ordered, went in on two separate days, and the "change ordering" teller finally fesses up and tells me she forgot to place my order. My halves should be in tomorrow, however.

I tried to buy some halves today. 3 separate banks asked what was so special about them, I was the second person this week asking for them.

I lost count how many banks I hit up today for halves and nickels. I was only able the find $5.50. No Ag, 5 of them were bicentennials.

What's up with the bicentennials, I've been seeing a lot of them lately...

I hit up some banks in a different area. Got told twice that somebody already bought all of them. I'm not likin' that...

I did however finally find a bank that had a whole unopened box. It yielded 6 40%, 1 90% and a boatload of bicentennials. I'm starting to get sick and tired of those bicentennials...

So you found 2 seat liberty and a barber?

That was a great bag then.
