Hi all-
The greatest story that almost never was!
I have a standing order at my local credit union for $100 face of pennies every two weeks. (Why they won't order them EVERY week...who knows.)(this is the same credit union where I keep finding IH pennies, btw) Anyway, I did a lot of shopping for Mom's day this week and was strapped for cash. Luckily, I just got my tax refund. But, when I went to cash it, they said their system was down and could only accept deposits. I wasn't mad at THEM, per se, but mad cause without the check being cashed, I didnt have enough on me to get the pennies. So I deposit it and go home. I came likethisclose to just blowing off getting the pennies, and get them after the next two weeks-BUT, just for grins, I call them up about 10 mins before they close, and they tell me the system was back up, and they processed my check. So, I drive over there with literally 1 minute before they close, and get the pennies.

Only when they CAN'T have it, ......THEN they'll want it.
I love Cents. If you get an UNC box, you win. If you get a regular circ. box, you win. If you get a zinc box, you don't lose....so you still win. |

| What an unbelievable score! Even with all my connections, and many, many hours of begging, I haven't been able to score that many boxes! A BIG congrats to you (...and I want to know your secrets...) |

Your must be pretty lucky! I know if any of the banks around here got those the tellers would have them under lock n key for themselves!
Also nice haul on selling them, it seems their still quite expensive! |

Hi all-
Yea, I know that they're FINALLY starting to trickle out, so that's why I'm taking whatever I can get in the $125-$150 range. I don't really mess around with single rolls, Just sell the box and move on. Think I'll buy a 1/4 oz gold and some silver (Yes, I said silver) with the proceeds!

H town has them but can't seem to find them up in big D |
The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; second is war. Both bring a temporary (and false) prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunities. |

Nice score wags. I finally got my first 2009 Lincoln cent but it was only a single piece. Anyone want to make me an offer for it? |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Nice, indeed. Haven't seen the first 2009 penny here for me yet in Central Florida. I keep asking at my bank, but none so far. Haven't found any in my change from stores, either. I hear others in the area have gotten a few. Oh well, I keep telling myself that good things come to those who wait.
Enjoy. |
