                      | Sorted $450 Face Value (18 boxes) with the Ryedale Machine today. Results: 31% Copper. Added almost another 100# of Cu to the hoard today. Seems to be about 30% around here (S.E. Michigan) everytime.

                      | finally decided to sort some of the 1982's i had saved. i had way more than i realized.
 836 copper
 203 zinc

 836/1039 = 80.46%

hard to believe that many are copper but i guess it must be so.

i think i will still keep these seperate from my other coppers so theres no confusion.

                      | A gram scale would work great in sorting the 1982 cents as say twenty 1982 cents would weigh 60 grams plus it pays to invest in a good gram scale PEACE! |

                      | First ever box of pennies today. 436 Cu, including:
 5 wheat (1956-D (2), 1951-S, 1944, 1919)
 4 Canadian (1976, 1980, 1984, 1994)

 Just 17.44% Cu.

On the 82s: flip them in the air with your thumbnail. Cu rings. Zn thuds.

                      | Sorted $480FV (a little over 19 boxes) this past weekend. 29.5% Copper....very typical....about 30% around here. This added another 100# to the hoard.
So far, in the past 6 weeks....over 750,000 coins throught my Ryedale machine. Very happy with the performance.

                      | Welcome to the forum centsless. Canadian pennies are 98% copper up to 1996. Apparently a few 1997s are copper too: You must be logged in to see this link. In 2000 they started making them in steel instead of zinc, these ones stick to a magnet and have a "P" mintmark under the queen picture.
