By a bus stop I found 4 nickels someone dropped and didn't bother to pick up-
20¢ face
36¢ melt
It was like finding a quarter, a dime and a penny. Better luck than I would have with a metal detector.

I should have chosen "Cut-n-Paste" as a forum name, since that is what I do, mostly.

I worked at a gas station once and it always
amazed me at the amount of money i found......

Always found 2.00 - 3.00 a week mostly change but
a few 1.00's and once a 5.00

I almost want my old job back......would always switch
the copper cents with the zinc'ers

What do you mean NO nickels in the register !!!!!!

HAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHA

I had a lot of luck this spring in a parking lot just as the snow was starting to melt away. As I got out of my car I noticed change spreaded out under my feet. Lots of nickels and pennies mixed in.

One day while down the beach after a wind storm I found a lot of change spreaded out on top of the sand. The wind must have removed the top layer of sand leaving the coins behind.

I always pick 'em up! Last year I would walk through the mall food court, which was a consistent producer. At one point I realized that I was finding more in dropped change each month than my savings account was earning in interest. 0.43% annual sucks.

RUNNING TOTAL

2854 zincs (1982-2007) 75.5%
898 coppers (1959-1982) 23.7%

6 Canadian (1968-1995)
1 dime (2004)

Just for fun, I swap out Zincs to get Coppers whenever I see one of those "Need a Penny - Take a Penny" trays at a store counter....I never "Take"....just "Swap"...it is not much, but it entertains me....

I also ask for penny and nickel change when at the drive thru...

Again, just for entertainment - i get to lauge at myself.....as I hoard about 15+ boxes per week.

Coin Hoarding has become a lifestyle for me.
