So I bought a box of dimes the other day and as I'm edge searching I see what looks like either a foreign coin or a dirty dime, which i obviously always pull out to inspect further. Only to find a penny that has had a grinder taken to it and is the exact size and weight of a dime.

I thought I had set it aside because I didn't want any one else to get ripped off plus it was one of the interesting types of coins, I like to throw in a jar. But I am 99% sure it ended up back in my dump pile which I took it too the bank today and ran through a machine and counted it as a dime. Also interestingly this was one of the few times I've ran dimes through the machine and not a single one came back as a cent.

Has anyone one else seen these "slugs"? I mean it seems like a lot of work if one was grinding it by hand... But i guess its 900% profit...
