Of course with the Alloy Recovery Program in full swing, lots of coins being "deminted" at the Mint. |

Jadedragon,
Thanks for the detailed listing. I think your 1924 and 1931 numbers are off by a factor of 10, maybe an extra zero that should not be there.
I think the mint is becoming really aggressive with the alloy recovery program. My yield on nickels has dropped from just under 20% to under 10% over the last few weeks. My best finds recently are when the tellers bring back bundles (10 rolls) that are a few years old. Those are easy to spot those, there is usually several rolls that are completely American. I suspect these were deposited when the Cdn dollar was trading at 1.07 USD in late 2007. |

Thanks Jin.coy for the quick updates. Sorry I confused you with Jadedragon. I was commenting on two different parts of posting trail at the same time. |

I noticed this thread You must be logged in to see this link. and I thought of doing the same for canadian Nickel nickels
Total number of nickel coins minted : 1,737,329,384 1 coin weights : 4.54 grams 220 coins weight : 1 kilo 220000 coins weight : 1 ton 1,737,329,384 divided by 220 = 7,896,951 kilos 1,737,329,384 divided by 220000 = 7,896 tons
1,737,329,384 divided by 33 million canadians = aprox 52 coins(1.30 face value) per canadian.
