They seemed okay. Can't really say how good or bad the prices were. I did purchase 3 "collectors" coins for my kids. He gave me an "off the top" price drop "for the kids".It was a 20% discount. Someone came in with a bag of coins and they said they would pay 3 cents for copper and wheat pennies. I think that is a deal.
They told me to bring in the kids and they would let them go into the vault and get bags of foreign coins for like $15 dollars a bag full. Probably something my little ones would like doing.
I think I will keep visiting them and check them out more.

That is a pretty honest buying price for wheats... I know that my dealer buys at 2 cents each, so that price is pretty good. |

It sounds like you've got a good dealer. I went to the closest dealer to me, and he doesn't even buy copper cents. His buy rate on junk is $9, and sells for $11.25 face (spot was $13.80ish). He had no 999 bullion for sale and said that he does not buy 100 oz ingots.
I went to another dealer and he does not buy copper either, but he will buy 100 oz ingots at spot for JM's and Englehards, but $1 under spot for others. His buy rate on eagles is $15, and sells for $20. He gets in junk all the time, but has a prearranged buyer that gets all the junk that comes in. He is also buying at $9 face.

| I have a few shops in the area. I haven't checked their buy rates lately, but last time I asked one was paying 1.1 cents for copper and 2 cents for wheats. I did pick up a 1 oz silver round for $15.00 last week. |
Are you throwing that out? |

As soon as we all start shipping several tons to prepgirl at 2 cents each so she can sell them to him at 3 cents each, the price will adjust. |
If your percentages are low.. just sort more. If your percentages are high.. just sort more.
Now selling Copper pennies. 1.6x plus shipping. Limited amounts available. |

I suspect you missed the point he was making. He is a smarter dealer than you may know. He is building a possilbe future cliental not only with you but since you have kids that are interested in coins, guess who will be his customers in the future? Maybe a nice dealer but more than that, a smart one. |

IMHO it sounds like you have found an honest dealer that is seeking to build future business with your kids, as well as yourself. I'd keep visiting and purchasing when you find what you want. I am not totally convinced that truly 'honest' and helpful coin dealers are in the 'majority' ... but that is my personal opion and worth about as much as a 'zincoln' cent :-)

| The biggest dealer in town here buys wheats at 3 cents each, but the rest seem to be at 2 cents each. |
My hobby: collecting real money 1 copper cent or nickel at a time.

Which probably why they are the bigest dealer in town. A few cents spent here and there may well produce a bunch of future customers. |
