The thread on dead mice got me thinking it might be a pretty good idea to stock up on rat traps. They're inexpensive and seem like a pretty straightforward way to catch food if you know what you're doing. They might not kill a rabbit every time but a squirrel should be no problem. Snare wire might be good to have (stores very compact I'm sure) but I don't know where you would get it.

Haha, I didn't think of that angle. I suppose wild rat might not be that much different from squirrel (haven't tried either myself) but I wouldn't go near any type of city vermin, rat, pigeon or otherwise.

OK, maybe I missed it...where was this thread about dead mice?? Was it in the Food Storage section?

Seriously, though, dead mice would be good food for cats, and cats are natural vermin control. My two cats do a darn good job keeping the house mouse-free.
