Will your bank order you any? Mine won't seem to order them, but I would have to wait for them to receive them, if they ever do. If your bank will order, which bank do you go to?

| From what I understand they have not been released into circulation yet. My coin magazine said the government wants to get the supply of older pennies down and get more of them into circulation before they release the new penny. All my banks are telling me the same thing, they cannot order the new penny like they could order the new state quarters or the new president dollars and that is why because they haven't been released yet to the public. I told all my banks to keep an eye out for the new ones and set them aside for me if any come in and they said they would, because any business that they order pennies for doesn't care if they are the new ones or not. |

The head teller at my bank said try a different bank. That due to PNC taking over National city, they can't even order the bills they need. They ran out of singles this morning! 
A teller at another branch told me they used to be able to order the special issues, but they cannot anymore.
So just try a different bank. |

Doing my best to pull all those old cents out of circulation.. so they will have to give us new ones.
I kind of figured Texas would get some of the first ones. I have folks looking for the 09's for me in San Antonio and in Tennessee. Haven't been able to find any yet.  |

Yes- they were the new design (log cabin back), in CWI boxes.
He unwrapped them all and dumped them in the coin counter at his credit union. I'll probably be getting quite a few of those boxes soon - Houston is notorious for BU -D mint boxes. |

Jeez that is almost has bad as dumping silver into a coin counter. Those are currently worth at least 6X face when sold by the box. I know in a few months that they will drop a lot, but dumping those right now?!? |

One bank I stopped at today told me they haven't seen any paperwork on ordering them at all.
The other bank I stopped at has a new manager. The new manager told me she will check with her corporate vault folks about ordering me some if possible. The bank cut me off several months ago. Glad to see they have a new manager that is more friendly to her customers. |

The Cash Products Office of the Federal Reserve which handles all coin orders from the mint is not going to order any mint pennies (2009) for distribution to the local Federal Reserve Banks until the volume of circulated pennies on hand is reduced, so obviously if you discover any 2009 pennies they are going to be valuable.

I got 4 boxes of 09-D's today.
I checked ebay and saw a box going for $202.
I immediately listed 2 boxes. |

It looks like some people are getting $60 a box just because they have 2009 and penny in their auction titles. That is for a mixed lot of old pennies with a 2009 stamp not for the new Lincolns! But I see some bad feedback in their future....
