Bought a '74 Ike out of a teller's change tray today. At another stop, I asked the teller if they were overwhelmed with half dollars being dumped there (by me possibly?) . The young guy said no, that they put them in the change trays and customers buy them routinely. Hmmm? I guess as long as we do not carpet bomb a bank with half dumps, there is a good chance that others will snap up the excess that the bank has on hand? Maybe a good etiquette to practice is to buy up any loose halves a bank has, that way keeping the halves "in play". Tellers will not feel like they are stuck with them after a while thus.
